it's been awhile since i've visited ES, but i'll have to agree w/ Eurekea Resident on the breakfast at myrtie mae's. we've hosted 2 or 3 reunions at that best western and we've always had breakfast there. i had the steak & eggs the first time, and every time after. the steak is seasoned sooo well, and goes great w/ the soft fried eggs, mixing w/ the broken yoke. one of the best breakfast's i've ever had. they also have awesome fruit platters.

i'll have to throw this one out too, even though i don't think they're around ES anymore...there used to be a little bbq shack called Two Hobos BBQ. we had them cater one of our reunions. i was there for a little less than a week, one summer, and i think i ate there a 1/2 dozen times. lol

btw, if anyone knows the spot i'm talking about, there was an old time ice cream parlor next to it. it's on the big hill road that goes up to the christ of the ozarks. what was/is the name of this place. GREAT ice cream!

Stay away from Devitos. If you are looking for good Italian, try Ermilio's on the Historic Loop.

Also, there is an Italian place on 62 across from Pine Mountain. It is horrible.

DeVitos and Ermilios are both excellent restaurants.

For breakfasts, add Mud Street Cafe to the list.

Dinner- Local Flavor, The Horizon and Cottage Inn are all worthy of a visit.

On Thursday nights, the Grand Taverne in Grand Central Hotel is great. They have a couple "specials" that are priced right ($14.95).
In nearby Holiday Island, there is Sushi/Thai restaurant (Koto Express) that is very good (both Thai and Sushi).

I would recommend you drive outside of downtown Eureka Springs towards Holiday Island.

Koto Express Sushi serves incredible sushi and Thai food. This place could compete with any Sushi restaurant on the west coast. You can eat lunch or dinner there. Well worth traveling 7 miles outside of Eureka.

Downtown Eureka, I would recommend the Mud Street Cafe for Breakfast or lunch.
I would recommend Ermilio's for great Italian food!

Did they try to run you off at Myrtie Mae's before you were finished,or,tell you the buffet was closed before you had finished your meal and began taking it up after you'd paid to eat it? That's what happened to us and another couple who went there about 2 years ago, and,it won't happen again because we won't go back no matter WHAT kind of b reakfast they are supposed to serve. They were out and out rude to us.I emailed their manager with no reply,so,I guess they've got plenty of business which is fine with us,there are plenty of other places to eat in eureka Springs, too.

My favorite place to eat in Eureka Springs is just a little out of town but its definately worth it. Anglers Grill and Pub. The food is fantastic and so is the service. On the Sat and Sun mornings they serve breakfast that is just awesome. You drive 62 West. The food is just great. I havent eaten anything there that I didnt like.

Eureka Resident, thanx for the tip about Myrtle Mae's at Best Western. In 24 hours from now, my wife and I will be leaving from here in St. Louis for a weekend in Eureka Springs to celebrate our anniversary this coming Monday, and it just so happens that we're staying at the Best Western. We'll definitely give it a look!:-)

I have not been to Eureka in 3 or 4 years. I heard Sonny's Pizza on Main Street is no more. Please say it ain't so. They had the greatest pizza in the world.
