People are quick to jump to conclusions in this case. As was reported, the motorcycle was the one that crossed the center lane and an over correction results in Kyle hitting the other driver. What I find amusing reading these posts is people forget that while this is a free country and freedom of speech is one of our rights, common decency and respect for all should be top priority here. I'm sure many of you claim to be "good Christian people" so take a look at yourselves here and get a grip on reality. The sad facts are that someone lost their life here and that most, if any of you, don't know the other people who were affected here. Jacks family will always have to live with this but so will Kyle's. I also think that laveling him a "drunk" is a MASSIVE exaggeration. One other thing, for the person that said he was in a bar, you obviously need to check your facts. Let's all remember that we are human here and just because you hide behind a fake name on a blog doesn't give you the right to trash anyone on a blog. Have some respect for both parties involved as this was clearly an accident. Granted, it looks worse for one party than the other.. But no one really knows what happened at that time than the people involved.

I really like have some respect's comment.
Nobody exactly knows details. a trash mouth obviously doesn't have respect or morals. only trash talking that solves nothing. Sounds like maybe these negative comments should read the Holy Bible. I think you may find your answers to whatever you are looking for there.

I guess none of you know that Kyle Rogers boat trailer had a blow out and jack knifed his truck to the other lane. He was approximately driving 25 mph. While Hefner was driving approx. 40 mph.
This dangerous road is nothing but a death trap.
You haters need to get your info straight. Both families involved are traumatized. Hefner's and Rogers. I am blessed to know both.

@have some respect. As reported, Rogers, not the motorcycle, crossed the center lane.

Kyle Rogers, 39, is also being charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. Police say Jack D. Hefner was riding south on a Yamaha motorcycle with his wife, Helen, when Rogers crossed the center line and hit them on Highway 127 near Garfield.

As NOT reported,...the boat trailer tire blew causing the truck to strike the motorcycle. Unfortunately not all of the facts of this case were disclosed, only the fact that there was alcohol in his blood. all we have to go by is the newspaper which doesn't ever report anything accurately.and the police report which was not handled by anyone that has actually driven a truck, or pulled a boat, or driven on winding roads. But, someone has to pay....He is now away from his family and his small boys will be forever scarred.....But it is 100% his fault, right? think about it. Vengeance is Mine saith the Lord!

I don't think you know all the details....Hefner's and Rogers families should all be in our prayers. anyone involved must think about this everyday.....walk free? no....I don't think so...a lifetime of guilt over an accident.

Why does Kyle continue to walk free while Jack Hefner never walked again on this earth. He might not be identified as a killer however Hefner's family suffers thru a year anniversary of his death while Kyle goes home to his family every night his big fine home. So sad this is over a year and nothing done for this families suffering. NO JUSTICE HERE!!!!!!!

It sounds as if the vehicle that the Rogers guy was driving was pulling too much weight,or had an underrated hitch (no antisway bar hitch) etc.A blowout on the boat trailer should not cause the tow vehicle to jackknife unless one is "undertrucked." Or overtrailerd. It happens all the time with 18 wheelers and also heavily loaded horse trailers.Of course, those are tandem axle trailers and a boat trailer isn't.Sounds like it was a bad deal all the way around.

I knew both families involved. To say justice isn't served? What makes you have any place to judge. You haven't a clue what the Rogers family has been through. A big fine home? No....you need to keep your mouth shut and get your story straight! As for the Hefner's I know that just want peace....believe me...that is all the Rogers family wants as well.
RIP Jack
as for Kyle...he is a great guy that will turn this into a positive GODLY situation...maybe you should try to be positive as well my friend!

I think D.U.I. laws should be a lot stiffer than what they are. Maybe it would cut back on the number of people who choose to get behind the wheel after drinking. The sad part is, if this is his first offense, he'll probably get a slap on the wrist. Remember that Muldrow girl, Alyssa Mcpeak, who killed a woman while driving drunk? All she got was 5 yrs. probation, and she's still drinking...
Will never forget that day.
