I just wanted all the business owners to know what Limo service to recommend, who not too. I recently Came to Eureka Springs with my wife on a rare vacation. The purpose of the vacation was for my wife to have a well deserved time out. I scheduled a few surprises to make the vacation even more enjoyable. One surprise was that we would be taken to dinner in a limo one evening. The Cabins, Beaver Lake Front cabins, are some what off the road. Having not stayed there before I was not aware of this until we arrived. This was actually better for us as the lake of cellular service was refreshing. My Business is one in which I spend entirely to much time on the cell. While that makes me money, my wife found it to be something of a blessing. Anyway, I had emailed Jay Wilks at Eureka Springs limo service, on one of the Ladies at BLFC recommendation. I spoke before that with another Limo service and had been looking at reserving there service. It turns out that Jay's service was about 1/4 the other company so I booked it. Every email That I sent to Jay, 3 in total (with two replies in which jay replied with Beaver lake front cabins), to ensure we were still on. He replied that we were. Then the evening prior to the pickup he emailed me to confirm the pickup with the name of another Cabins. I corrected the cabin name and replied. The internet service at the cabins is sketchy at best, and my wife and I were heading into to town early that morning. The Lady who recommended ES limo offered to call Jay, and make sure all was good and then let me know. I never received a call from the Cabins, or Jay, so I figured that all was fine. When I returned to the Cabins I found that Jay Wilks of Eureka Springs Limo service had back out do to road conditions on CR120. This was about 2 hours before the limo was to be there, and far to late to book the other company. I found it totally unprofessional to wait that late, and to not even call until called, to cancel a commitment. If Jay had let me know the day prior I probably would have had the change to book with an alternate service. There were two reasons I booked with jay in the first place: 1. Recommendation. 2. the cost, while not a problem one company charging 1/4 of the other makes a difference. I would have not even thought twice about paying the 4 times Jay's price. Recall I had all but booked the other company before booking with Jay on reason #1.
I know that if I did not keep commitments in my business I would be out of business. Then to wait until just a couple hours prior to cancel out seems to be a case of not wanting the business to take the Client. Then to offer to meet us at the intersection of 187 and 120, or at Mundell Rd. was just not even acceptable for many reasons. Anyway, I just want people to know that this guy Jay Wilks is very much short of a respectable person, and does not offer reliable service.

wow, that's kind of confusing, let me see: you booked limo service with this Jay dude, you are staying out in the sticks at Beaver lake in some cabins.so,you just emailed him,you never spoke to him in person? And the cabins owner/manager/whatever she was called him to confirm a time to come pick you guys up,and, about an hour before that time, he calls to say the roads are too bad.Why were the roads too bad? Did you drive your car to the cabins and notice that the roads were that bad? Was it during the snow/ice storm? I don't get that part.
If he doesn't supply limos off of the main roads,he should say so,he apparently knew where you guys were at.Is that all correct?

IN reply to Huh,
Sorry for the confusion. The first post was a little confusing, but you got most of it right.
I spoke with the guy on the phone. I'm not from ES. Yes, out in the sticks. The roads were a little rough, drive there myself. I had been emailing back and forth a few times with the guy, he is the owner of Eureka Springs Limo Service http://www.eurekaspringslimo.com . It had rained a little but not bad, and no snow. The internet was sketchy at best there, and when I did check my email the evening before, He had sent a confirmation with the wrong cabin name. I replied but the internet was down. So the lady at the office of the cabins called the guy for me to check in the morning of the day that the limo service was scheduled.
OK, back to the Roads, The roads were gravel and steep in a couple places but they were very well graded. I did drive my vehicle out there without issue.
As I said originally, He had 5 emails from me a week before the service was scheduled. 4 of which had the name of the cabins (Beaver Lake Front Cabins) in the emails. 2 of which he responded with the name of the cabins in his reply. All of these were in 1 email thread. I couldn't see where it would possibly be a case of him being misinformed.
I Agree if the guy does not provide the service off road he should have this on his website at least, and should not commit to providing a service without any intention of fulfilling the commitment. If it were a misunderstanding on his part, he should have had enough professionalism to let me know with enough time to schedule with the other company, or man up to his commitment.
Again sorry for the confusion.

Just looked at the site again. Jay has updated to include the statement about not serving of road. So, at least he has it listed now. He must read topix... Or the guestbook Post I made got him motivated. Even though it's now posted does not negate the way he hosed me. Also, the lady at the cabins had said he was down there 2 weeks prior to my scheduled service.

Wow! I would imagine that calls for limos at this time of the year at Eureka Springs wouldn't be coming in every 5 minutes either.

I would highly recommend ES Limo.$5 from point to point for most locations. If the road is bad or hard to get to they let you know weher they can pick you up. It is a real limo, nonta van or someones car. They can't get everywhere. I don't understand this guy. Doesn't seem he called at all. If it is a tough location, they usually let you know where they can pick you up. Of course, some people expect to be picked up no matter how hard it would be to get into the pickup location. Safety vs. Unrealistic Expectations. Hmmm?

Most businesses in Eureka Springs use this service for all of their client's needs. Of all of the Limo companies to come through our town, Eureka Limo has been the most reliable and efficient.
Also, considering the size of the town...to even offer a Limo service is a big plus. We rally around the hard working and the trusted, Eureka Limo is both of these.
Miss-communication is part of our Human experience unfortunately. I would think that we wouldn't be so quick to judge on one event...from one view point.

Jay Knows Who - I think your expectations are a bit unreasonable. You simply cannot get a limo into every location in the area. ES Limo does it's very best to accommodate all situations possible. It's a terrific service and I will continue to recommend it to visitors to Eureka Springs.

man all of a sudden in just the last 1/2 hour, looks like a bunch of Jay's buds have appeared to rally around him!
I don't see how a limo could even manage to get up some of those streets in Eureka Springs.with all of the weddings, etc that take place there it should be a good business to be in I would think.

I don't know Jay personally, but many of my out-of-town friends and customers have used his services extensively since he started up here last year. They have raved about the friendliness and courtesy of the drivers. Unfortunately, there are a lot of resorts with similar names out by Beaver Lake, some of which would be easy to get to and others more harrowing in a low-slung vehicle (like a limousine). I hope that people will judge ES Limo by its long-term record, rather than by a single incident. I hate when anyone has a bad experience in Eureka, but I also know that Jay makes a great effort to do a good job.

We have used ES Limo service more than once. We specifically used them for our July 4th Wedding weekend in 2009. Many of the wedding party stayed @ Garden of Dreams and Land-o-Nod that weekend. We used the Limo Service to Henri's for Friday Night Karaoke, and we had a BLAST.
We have ALWAYS had courteous, safe Drivers. If we are in town and want to end the night at Henri's, then we call up the Limo service and one of the drivers is happy to pick us up as soon as they can get to us.
I think that we are all allowed to make mistakes, even businesses. We are all human. "Forgive us as we forgive others".

I own a restaurant in Eureka Springs. I love Jays' professionalism. He has serviced many of our people. I love to call after they have had one of our Italian Margheritas. Nothing but praise for him.

We love using Eureka Springs Limousine!!!! On festival weekends it's great to be COOL, BE SEEN, BE SAFE! Avoid those vacation buzz-killers like getting a DUI or trying to find a parking place downtown. Jay has come to our rescue more then once on our many trips where we spend all day shopping, sight seeing, collecting treasures from the gallery's, and sampling the adult no no drinks at the many quirky pubs in the historic downtown.

Uh,I'm not taking anybody's side here but did you read the guy's full posts? It does not sound as if anybody "sacrificed their safety for the guy's ungrateful whatever because no one went out there, cancelled about 2 hrs before according to what he posted.I did not see a mention about the weather conditions either.
Just saying what was written.
