It was never in the Leader, cite the date of the article naming Shockey in a sexual harassment suit. Show where the city attorney and Mayor spoke out against him and in favor of the officer making the complaint. Then show the investigative report that was completed after the press conferences. Then come back here with your tail between your legs and apologize.
If that was the protocol 15 month ago or longer, what changed with that protocol in the last six months? It sounds as though someone is trying to change the process to further their political agenda. Just what is the standard here, wouldn't the Chief be expected to uphold the law instead of hiding the fact that it has possibly been broken? Innocent until proven guilty, unless of course, you are Ken Moss.
I'd wager they expected to be able to keep that lawsuit against the chief (as well as his behavior) and city under wraps until AFTER the election. Then they'd feverishly work even more to cover it by telling the council "you don't want to know the details", just pay out!

And second, once again, dumdums, ya can't post a link when a link doesn't exist. Call Martin and ASK if the Leader ran a story on the Alicia Ott allegations when they happened. The answer will be yes. I remember it quite clearly for reasons I won't go into here. Whether or not you will come slithering back here to admit it, however, is questionable.
There are no online archives of the Leader from 2 or 3 years ago. Good Christ, it's like talking to a pile o' bricks around here. Good thing the Topix forums are not representative of the voting public. Otherwise we'd all be doomed.
You must be delusional. I remember nothing being said. Did you call the Leader and ask? If they did run the story it must have been in the city of Herky because I certainly remember not on darn thing.

Why don't you cite the date this article appeared? You are the one who says it did. Did it include all of the same type information that was included when the Mayor, City Attorney, City Administrator and Ms. Boone had a conference with Kim Robertson from the Leader concerning that, at the time, questionnaire submitted the the MCHR? The allegations against the Chief Shockey and Officer Conorow were substantiated by the MCHR, so is it customary for unsubstantiated claims to be publicized and those that have not are kept quiet?
I must tell you that I sit on the city council and can assure you that when I started poking around down in Hillsboro asking for the depositions regarding this matter, that I did NOT receive, I was accused of overstepping my bounds and asking for them rudely. How can you ask for something rudely? Then I was accused of misrepresenting myself. Why are these things being kept secret from a council person? Truthfully, I was threatened with more litigation for taking it upon myself to look into the matter. Truthfully I was called after inquiring about these depositions and asked if I was hunting the Chief. That is a strange way of putting it, don't you think?
There is a constant threat from Bob Sweeney, the city attorney, of litigation against me when I question procedures, job performance, rules, ordinances, regulations, state statutes....you know, all of those things we swear to support when sworn in.
It all goes back to the fact they want me to be quiet, don't ask any questions, don't investigate anything on my own and most of all don't go against the good old boy political machine that has been in place for many years.
I have told all, time and time agains, I will NOT be intimidated, coerced, blackmailed or threatened. Open debate, is welcome.

Doris you are so full of bs. So you went down to the clerk and threw your substantial weight around and wondered why they thought you asked rudely. Post your report showing anything was substantiated by MCHR.

Just stating facts. Did you read the whole thing?
http://www.scribd.com/doc/125664712/Ott-Lawsu...

"36. On September 26, 2011, the MCHR issued a Notice of Right to Sue to plaintiff allowing her to bring this action against Defendants City of Arnold, Shockey and Conarow. Plaintiff has filed this action against Defendants withing 90 days of the issuance of the Notice of Right to Sue and withing two years of the discriminatory actions alleged herein. "

If anyone can ask a question rudely, Doris, it' you. I have never heard anything out of your mouth that wasn't rude or negative. You're so busy out trotting around looking for conspiracies that you can't do one positive thing for this community.

Good Christ, do you really think I can give you the friggin' date of an article from 2 or 3 years ago? That's just stupidity defined. Why is it so hard for you people to understand that?! I said I remember reading about it because of personal circumstances in my life. I remembered the name and I remembered her accusations. That's all I can tell you. Outside of reading the Leader I am not involved in the goings-on down there at City Hall. Go to the damn library and search archives if you're so dadblamed concerned about it.

Eyeroll.

Damn nutter.

That would be good if she actually had proof rather than throwing out accusations and hoping they stick. I'll admit, I voted for her for council but she wasn't there for us when we needed her. I'm tired of her antics and reading about her disgraceful behavior in the Leader and will not vote for her again.

Her disgraceful behavior...... Have you been to council meetings to see how your friend Moritz treats the public. You better stop and smell the roses instead of believing everything you read in the good ole leader and calling it proof. From what I personally witness the leader is a tad bit one sided. Pat Martin and Phil Amato are buds so the leader will stick to that team almost 90 percent of the time.

I want to know why this idiot was allowed to act as city administrator with a harassment suit filed ?
This absolutely not splashed in the media.
No where did the attorney, mayor, moritz or shockey make statements in the media about this.
Oh that's right, they wanted this covered up!!
While they were screaming from the highest root top for boones flim flam scam.
And that fire starter rag leader is just as guilty!

Seems like fact to me. Gold Buyer is asking for $75K because they claim Doris damages their business by her actions.

And I've never met Moritz but he sounds just as bad as Doris given his letters to the editor in past editions of the paper.

Thought I would point out the irony in someone whose child is 3rd in damaging local businesses only to the Planning Department and THF, complaining about make-em-up damage demands. Where were ya when your progeny was killing local eateries?

Uh, I am not sure who you are talking about, but a "nutter" is a British term. Look it up, it ain't exactly hard to figure it out.

Sorry ol' Chap, I thought we were in the United States where no one of any intellect uses that term, was not aware we had crossed the pond.

As for Michelle, she is an Obamabot who lives in Arnold. She uses the word frequently I am told. Her Facebook is a Who's Who of Missouri "Progressives". Most of them, like Shriver and Matthews, are admitted Communists (literally), so she would fit right in with Sweeney and the PowerUnion crew.......in fact, I think Counts appointed her to the Farmer's Market Cmte. It was probably her idea to require a business license, and a bazillion dollar insurance policy. No wonder it is a complete flop. It is a City sponsored garage sale. Festus's is much better attended.
