By the way, that DWI was 2.5 years ago. Probation started 10/2011, for 2 years, and apparently there have been ZERO probation violations since that time. A regular offender would probably have multiple additional violations.
Sounds like someone made a mistake and learned a lesson and has kept his nose clean since.
More than I can say for some other folks around here.

Was that DWI a form of self medicating for deeper seeded problems? Does this person have a substance abuse problem? Teaching at risk children does not sound like a job cut out for someone who is a known substance abuser. Is this person under a doctor's supervision?

That you can make a mistake, make it right, make amends, and work at a satisfying job educating tomorrow's leaders.

What trash, what slander, what lies are you referring to? Why would his career be ruined? Is the district not aware of these things? What accomplishments? What awards? Please be specific, everyone wants to know all of these things.

How is this thread even relevant any longer? The first post is from 2011! Geez, let the man live his life. I don't think he's running for office right now. Find someone else's character to assassinate...there are plenty of other choices!

Recklessly and carelessly taking the helm of a couple tons of steel while drunk, and then hitting someone is a big deal. Ask anyone with a friend or loved one killed by a drunk driver who also all kinds of awards and accomplishments if they lessened the hurt of the lives they selflessly destroyed. A moral person, whether or not they are "educated" does not selfishly risk the lives of others.

You sound like someone who would excuse pedophilia if it was committed by a priest, because they have expressed contrition and have rededicated their lives to God. Both bankruptcy and Driving while intoxicated speak to the man's lack of good judgement and moral character. Not someone I would want influencing my kids. This was 2 years ago, not 25-30 years....hardly distant history, nor indication of necessary reform.

Holy shit! He's going to turn all our kids gay! Seriously you probably are just pissed because gay activists shoot the price of butt plugs up and you don't want to pay the extra $2.50. Plus lube! Fuck this veteran who served our country and is now a teacher. He should make something of his life.

Agreed. Most of the abuse comes from people that would rather gossip about someone in the spotlight rather than think introspectively and find flaws. Instead of berating a true gentlemen for a mistake, meet him or contact him via email and you'll find what a good person he is.

Thou doth protest too much! Over defending one's self makes it appear there is much more to be defended! There is no call to invoke the use of sex toys or profanity, one should be able to express one's self without using those type words. What children, teens and easily impressionable youth may realize is their current guide to life is an unstable hypocrite. Those in the spotlight are scrutinized more so than those who are not. Rather than a true gentleman, this one sounds more like a train wreck. Probation is a trial period, that trial period isn't over. There are many months of toeing the line yet to be completed.
Have yet to see any specific trash, lies or slander that have been pointed out or any true defense for the actions of this man. Maybe there are even more problems that have yet to surface.

The only problem with that is if you turn the other cheek on this one, someone will end up dead or gravely injured. I wonder if MADD is aware of this teacher or if there are conditions to the probation that would be a bit more interesting?

What about the principal at Bridges? He drove under the influence and got caught, right? And I'm sure there are many others, but if not habitual, they may have learned their lesson.
Substandard

Arnold, MO

#39 Feb 27, 2013
I don't think anyone expects perfection, however they do expect the district to hold themselves to a higher standard. I guess when the superintendent exhibits behavior that is at the least questionable in elevating her love interests to higher positions when their pasts are dotted with little indiscretions like DWI's it is only normal for that person and those under him to have the same type of background. When you lower your standards and expectations, so too is the outcome lowered. Do as I say, not as I have done, right?

He's an embarrassment to the veterans that follow the rules of the UCMJ. He got booted out for violating the DADT policy. I really wish he'd stop wearing that status on his sleeve. He wasn't soldier enough to serve legally at the time. And Counts appoints him to head a Veterans Advisory Board? Sheesh! What a bad idea. http://rturner229.blogspot.com/2012/12/gay-mi...
