Former Arnold City Council member fined for campaign violations
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Dec 17, 2013 04:50 PM
ARNOLD The Missouri Ethics Commission has fined Doris Borgelt, a former Arnold City Council member, for campaign violations during her failed bid for mayor in the April election.

The Ethics Commission levied a $3,450 fine against Borgelt and her committee, but that amount is reduced to $430 if paid within 45 days of the Dec. 6 order, and if no further campaign finance violations are made within the next two years.

Borgelt said Tuesday that she made a mistake, and that in the future, she will take a class on campaign-finance procedures. She also said she will pay the $430.

Is that ignorance of the law is no excuse?

How come she was quick to accuse others if she now admittedly didn't know the law?

My other question is that Matt Hay filed a complaint against someone for violations as evidenced in The Leader. Why didn't he do one of the following?

1. Advise her of what needed to be done.
2. Practice what that group preaches about fairness and the law being applied equally and fairly to ALL and file a complaint against Doris for violations.

Doris is better than everyone else.
Doris is above everyone else.
The rules that apply to everyone else do not apply to Doris.
Doris filed a complaint about Amato for a bookkeeping error where money was accounted for in the wrong column of the form.
Doris giggled gleefully when she did it.
Doris and Bob Boyer knew they were deliberately breaking the law.
Bob Boyer wants to pull this nonsense and still be our Representative.
Doris and Bob Boyer need to find something else to do.

Maybe Bob Boyer's records should be looked at because if he didn't do Doris' correctly I have to wonder if his campaign was done correctly. Just my thoughts though.

Could always try to recall Robert Boyer.

I think his election finance reporting just needs to be audited. My concern is that if he was the treasurer for Doris' committee and there were violations then who's to say that he may not have violations if he didn't prevent them for Doris. If he was treasurer then he should have known better.

I just find it funny that they stay on too of everyone else and complain about their filings and such and then claim ignorance of the law when they are caught.
Did I do that

Funny how none of this is mentioned on another person's site. Is that called censorship or limiting of public exposure to information so that you don't look bad?

If someone were to actually follow through with their incessant threat/whine that they were going to get a protective order against another poster, would that person have to give their real name when they applied for it?

No court would issue a protective order for "anonymous" against "anonymous" on the Internet.

Considering I've never threatened that I wouldn't know/care.

I've told one person they have made me fear for my safety and to leave me alone.

Did Doris ever file against Mike Evans? She claimed he made her fear for her safety.

What was the other order someone filed against a person that they later moved in and are living with? Someone mentioned it on here and I found it. It's very curious. Why would you ever move in with someone that made you feel so unsafe that you filed a protective order against?

Someone had the thread removed and I can't find it or I would post this there, but It was stated that Doris' board had no traffic and that is why she was posting here.

Did anybody notice the sudden user that popped up on her board that she used to try to make it seem like she had followers? It is so pitiful. I truly do feel sorry for her. Know if she can create another several thousand users to talk to herself with it might actually be interesting.

Yeah, I noticed that. You're right, they are sad. But I wouldn't feel sorry for them in the least. They cause their own drama.
