I have a $50 outdoor antenna unseen on the floor behind my HDTV (LCD). I don't use a signal booster and get uninterrupted ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, and many independents 50 miles out of Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay, all crystal clear in digital or digital HD depending on the time of day.(PBS is HD 24/7.) The digital is as good as DirecTV and the HD is as good as it gets. No, I don't get to see the advertisement-riddled news loops, L&O reruns or "Overbored" for the 80th time. but then I don't have a $50 monthly DirecTV bill. And I can get Modern Marvels or Trading Spaces through Netflix and watch them when I want without ads.

Cable companies and satellite providers that have been charging us to watch advertising should be scared.
