Thanks Jessica..we had the Celebration of Life for Nickki today..we expected 75 people + and almost 300 people showed up. I knew all of their names and it was such a beautiful showing of love and respect.. he was only a resident of Hoopa for 3 weeks! He wanted to get out of the city life and into a solid beautiful part of the world..he spent most of his summers growing up in Trinidad, CA as a child fishing for salmon, red and black snapper, lingcod, etc. his home was in Bakersfield but his heart was in Humboldt. The person that shot Nick didn't know him or he would still be with us.. so many tried to speak about their friend Nick and their tears wouldn't allow them to say what their hearts felt..Nick I will touch your land again.. I promise you..Momma

It is so sad that this guy got killed and left to be found...Wait to find out who it was that killed him...Rodney has been locked up foster homes, juvinile halls, and jails all of his life, he dosent know any better... pretty sad huh? Dosent mean that everybody has to bad talk Hoopa..Its the drugs that people are sending to Hoopa from out of town, that is getting people tweaked out of there minds.
Innocent until proven guilty...

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Nick, they are also with "Little Rod" I pray he does the right thing and talks, about what he knows... I pray that if he does the right thing he will not be labeled as a "snitch" (as some say snitches belong in ditches) I pray that "little Rod" will look into his heart and think about how good Nick was to him and do right by him!

Absolutely. All of us who are missing Nick in our lives deserve answers. Thank you Lisa for having the celebration of life. We would all have rather met again under better circumstances but it was genuinely a blessing that you brought these people together for Nick. I saw several people that I never even knew Nick. It reaffirmed just how special a person he was to see all the different friends that he made along his journeys. Our thoughts are with you and Dave and all the others that are hurting over this tragedy.

Nick was a friend of mine for more than a decade, we were close friends in fact...this is a senseless tragedy committed for some bullshit purpose above all of us. Leave your condolences and keep this about Nick's life or f-u with your spam wars. What happened happened. Most shit in life happens for a reason and if you sat Nick down im sure he would agree with you. There are people in the world that will always give a fuck when it's too late and some of those people were Nick's closest friends sadly, fucking groupies who needed him for a reason other than friendship, those people know who they are. He was a loyal and kind individual which is a trait that more people like to exploit these days. Never in a bad mood, always had a smile on his face.. I apologize for the nastiness and anger and if you disapprove of my comments then you didn't know Nick well enough. I feel this really could have been prevented., it's truly fucking senseless. This post written in 2011 by the way i see the last post was Sep 23, 2009. Some of you who posted here were im sure "closer" to Nick than me. Have some class and show his family love and every once in awhile, nobody deserves this. Post here and show respect instead of getting off topic about some other shit. RIP Nick. Please keep him in your thoughts/prayers...

This man, Nick, was an amazing person. He always had a smile on his face and a nice word to say to someone. I am proud to have known him for the breif amount of time I did. All of his Bakersfield friends are deeply saddened by his death. He is one person in this world who never deserved to be murdered and abandoned. Please show your support to the police and if you know anything,ANYTHING at all, please do the right thing.
What a wonderful thing to say. And this is exactly how I remember Nick...always smiling and always kind. I can only imagine the impact of his death on everyone in Bakersfield. He is definitely someone who never deserved what happened to him. Shocking and horrible.
