This is still so shocking!Nick will be sooo greatly missed! He was one of the kindest most free spirited people I knew! As others have said He ALWAYS had a big smile on his face! It is heart breaking that his life ended this way!He was the last person to EVER deserve such a thing! Vengeance is the Lord's and the person who did this WILL pay!

I pray for Nick and his family.
I know the pain of losing a young loved one and the pain takes your life away for a long time.
I have heard so many wonderful things about Nick. Anyone who mocks a death of anyone regardless of race, age or anything needs help, they are the heartless ones.
Keep Nick's family and close friends in your prayers, they are the ones who are suffering the pain of the loss at this time.

Nick will be greatly missed. He and his family did not deserve this. Nick was a kind hearted person with a positive attitude all the time. I once taunted him while skating that he could not ollie over a metal trash can. He ollied over four of them one after the other and then just smiled at me. A truly senseless tradjedy.

jenn, you are definantly white, a cold hearted racist, where do you think your pot growers come to grow thier pot ?? you got it, hoopa.!! keep your people, down there to grow, and stop poluting hoopa.! he must not have been a scum bag, looking at the poses about him, however, the dirt bag who decided this young man shoud die , is, now you should agree with that , if you have any feelings at all !! i tink you are cold all the way thru tho, when you can cheer another humans death !!
now i hope that this won't be censured, as jenn was not !! i wonder jenn, do you have many friends ?? if you do, they would be racist indian haters like yourself !! hoopa was here hundreds of years before white people took it from them !! take care of the crime in your own back yard, before taking care of ours !! why do crimes on indian reservations, take the front page, and white crimes go unnoticed ?? racism ?? unfortunatly, there are indians who are weak, and buy from the drug dealers, mostly white, who target them !! what's your drug of coice ?? let me guess, meth ? Only meth users become so dead and very dangerous !!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Nick. May you find some peace in knowing he is with God. My 16 year old son tells me that when someone good dies, it is more proof that God is making "His Army" strong!

May God help those whose hearts are filled with hatred!

God Bless Us EVERYONE!!

What happened to that man was a tragedy, and not all people that reside in Hoopa are drunks or tweekers; it just seems that way with all of the bad news lately. My deepest sympathy goes out to this mans family. The man who did this should be put to death, he just gives the rest of us a bad name.
Thank you I am Nick (victims) mom he brother is sitting here with me and we both really appreciate your comments. Nick was a gentle soul that loved Hoopa because he purchased the land so he would be able to live out his dreams and because of its beauty. Sad Family

This man, Nick, was an amazing person. He always had a smile on his face and a nice word to say to someone. I am proud to have known him for the breif amount of time I did. All of his Bakersfield friends are deeply saddened by his death. He is one person in this world who never deserved to be murdered and abandoned. Please show your support to the police and if you know anything,ANYTHING at all, please do the right thing.

Nick Montoya was hands down the most positive loving person I have ever met. Its a shame what out of control stupid people will do. Nick would be so devastated if this happened to any of his friends. He is responsible for so many positive things in my life I can"t even count. People don't even know. I will carry on with a heavy heart knowing a pure soul has moved on to a better place. You are in Zion now Nick and that I know. To nicks mother Lisa you raised a wonderful son and it was a great experience getting to know him

Dont worry Nicks family, the same person from teh san leandro IP keeps postng racist ignorant rants about tweakers and indians, and how they all should die. I know there is freedom of speach, but there is only so much we should take in a free society. the internet has become home for these racist adn they beleive they can hide. Again im sorry nicks family has to hear one mans lonely rants about people he wants dead. Lets pray for him to find a woman besides his nerf football.

Nick's mother is a x-co worker of mine, and a good
friend, she does not deserve all the bad remarks
of her son Nick. I met him one time, a quite guy, nice and polite. No, matter what, he is her son, people should be ashamed to behave like this.
Words hurt forever, and she will never forget them, as they are on paper, you cannot erase.
I am American Indian, and proud of it, there is
bad in every race, so why don't we just tell NICKS MOTHER, LISA AND HER FAMILY:
WE ARE SO SORRY, THEY LOST A LOVING SON, BROTHER, GRANDCHILD, AND HOPE THEY CAN GET PAST THIS AWFUL HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE!!!!!!.

Well said Jan. Some people show a lack of dignity in their words that betrays their own self value. Nick was proud of who he was and all these people are obviously proud to have had him in their lives. I think Mr. Lonely should consider leaving his issues out of our discourse. It reeks of a life much less an example than Nick's was and leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouths.
