Lets just hope that tribal police is not involved in the investigation....or it will become an unsloved mystery, even with donahue in jail and caught with the victims truck.

What happened to that man was a tragedy, and not all people that reside in Hoopa are drunks or tweekers; it just seems that way with all of the bad news lately. My deepest sympathy goes out to this mans family. The man who did this should be put to death, he just gives the rest of us a bad name.

Its the drugs that make it into the valley and get people out of there mind, that makes them do these kinds of things, Its not HOOOPA!!! Just think about this for a minute!

I visit hoopa frequently, I am as white as they come and have no problems. I love the valley and the people. All you bigots and un-educated haters should put down your righteous thoughts and spend some time up there. It is beautiful, and has some angry and very pleasant folks.

Hoopa valley is a well kept treasure, that you haters luckily dont know about.

It has been a long time sents I have spent time in Hoopa.I have been told that it is just as pretty. I remember Rodney when he was a very little boy. I am so sorry to hear how things worked out for him.I hope for his sake that he was on a joy ride and not contected to this slaying. I hope every mother and father there in Hoopa Valley will say this is enofe. I no back in 1975, they said no more and pulled toghter and ran the low lives out of town out of the school and proctect their children and tried to make it better for the next generation. I hope for the next generation this is something of the past. It is time to come toghter and protect what is so perfect.

This man, Nick, was an amazing person. He always had a smile on his face and a nice word to say to someone. I am proud to have known him for the breif amount of time I did. All of his Bakersfield friends are deeply saddened by his death. He is one person in this world who never deserved to be murdered and abandoned. Please show your support to the police and if you know anything,ANYTHING at all, please do the right thing.

At last, a voice a reason. This doesn't have anything to do with Hoopa or not Hoopa. It is another murder in our community. OUR community here in Humboldt. When did we become so mean? So casual in our ability to make anonymous judgements or even jokes about a murder? It saddens me.

I think he was, his family is still here. It's sad, he was a great guy, just like another poster said always had a smile on his face. This is such a tragedy...

Nick was never mad, always smiling, ALWAYS laughing.

I know he's not mad now but i am.

Hoopa has many many good people.

Dont let the few lousy low down tweekers fool you. They're the bad apples in the bunch who need to pay, and they will.

Racists, you CAN change your ways and become decent human beings if you try. If you won't try to be a decent human being, can you at least shut the f up so the rest of us don't have to hear (or read) your verbal diarhea.

Condolences to Nick's loved ones.

Hoopa is a very beautiful and magical place. And
to all you racist fools out there, haven't you
read the news or watched televison? We are all
brothers and sisters. Black, white, yellow, or
what have you. The tweakers are not fussy, they
are in every little crack and cranny of a town in
Humboldt, California, the U.S., and beyond. That
is the real tragedy. And they are breeding some
real screwed up children. The world is going to
hell in a handbag. We have lived in the best time. Count your blessings.

Hey Down - if you hate the American Indian, why don't you move to Europe? Africa? Antarctica? Yeah, Antarctica would be my choice for you. Just leave.

You know who I hate? Philip Garrido. White piece of sht, along with his wife. Hitler. George Bush. But I don't hate all white people. I am actually a heinz 57 white girl myself. Most white people are OK, just like most people of other colors. Some people are lower animals, regardless of "race". Like yourself.

This story is about a young man who was murdered, not about the "race" of the suspected murderer, or even about where the victim was found. Any one who is a friend or family of a crime victim shouldn't read these comment boards. People say horrid things, no matter what the circumstance.

Again, condolences to Nick's loved ones.

Hoopa is a very beautiful place and so are the people. You dont even know what a low life maggot is unless you come to the bay area than you people up there in Eureka would really know what criminals look and act like. They are not Indians either!

Thank you. It does seem like this is more about the town to others. I just see it as a tragedy that happened to my friend. Think of his family and what they are going through, please. I am saddened to hear that the alleged "suspect" was so young as well. It is just horrible all around.

This is still so shocking!Nick will be sooo greatly missed! He was one of the kindest most free spirited people I knew! As others have said He ALWAYS had a big smile on his face! It is heart breaking that his life ended this way!He was the last person to EVER deserve such a thing! Vengeance is the Lord's and the person who did this WILL pay!
