Good idea, unless they have a doctor's prescription for the narcotic they have in their system. It would be an infringement on their Civil Rights if they were denied the right to purchase due to a prescripted drug in their system when tested. I also think the California handgun test should cover more situations that could be legal hazards in the future.

What makes the robbery of a drug dealer an "Only-In-Humboldt" crime? I lived across the street of a residential area down here from a guy who grew and sold pot...but, he had a full surveillance system to protect himself...drug dealers get robbed all over the place, right?

i know this kid very well. he has never been to virginia and has always been a humboldt resident. born and raised. this talk makes me sick. the shotgun was legal home defense. he did not do drugs, he had a very small medicinal garden for personal purposes. the girl he was living with is very in love with him, he was never 'mean to her' and she is extremely distraught about his arrest. she is more than willing to testify against these criminals (the robbers) and tell nothing but the truth, she did NOTHING wrong. they did not take her in or give her name because what the couple did in their home was LEGAL here in humboldt county. the serriffs who came the night of the robbery completely respected that. it WAS a random traget and the robbers wanted money, which the couple did not have any of, so when they realized this they went after their (small, under the limit) medicinal garden. the media always exaggerates. they did not have processed marijuana. they had 65 plants. there are many people willing to stand up for dan and many good citizens who love him. i cannot beleive people would think he deserved what happened to him. he is such a wonderful kid, and the female victim is just that, a victim, as well as an amazing person too, who survived something TERRIBLE. if anything i just wish that the citizens of Humboldt County, who we all know many of participate in much more than they did, would support these young people who went through so, so much over practically nothing. its not funny. it is extremely sad. seeing all of this hurtful talk kills me.

Is he still in jail for the warrant from Virginia? Why wasn't there a follow-up story if there was a mix up with the name?
