It's no secret that oil is found in places where there has been techtonic activity. Every check a map and see where Saudi Arabia lies? There are some pretty huge fault lines over there. Here in Michigan there are lots of little oil reserves trapped along the cracks created in the Michgan basin.... don't blame a conspiracy because of your ignorance.

Also, the plates don't shift because of hydrocarbon reserves lubing them up. It's far too hot at those depths for liquid oil to exist! Reserves are created and condense at much shallower depths along fault lines where pockets are created by shifting faults.

You should read up on geology before claiming the knowledge.

Subduction is making the earth remain static i.e.not expanding well I am very glad to know that. Our earth has expanded to twice its original size over time. It will continue to expand for a long time to come.
