Mesquite thorns... your party is showing.

Had you 1 ounce of training you might know that Nuclear waste canisters are spent uranium. That means for those of us with fancy book learning, that it's shielded by a chunk high density transuranic metal. The canisters are DESIGNED to block the radiation down to safe levels, or by having the basic common sense to not load it with materials that meet the storage class of the container. Radiation levels are monitored by a certified and trained health physics professionals, who know safe levels of radiation and who have done more mathmatics with radiation safety than Democrats have liberal members.

And if your dieing of cancer, maybe you should look at what your eating and using in your environment. In conclusion, get an education, get a job, and get away from liberal drug pushers...

I would think that dumbed-down employees would be the best kind to have around nuclear waste or nuclear processing operations. Cancers do not show up until years later. "You can eat your lunch off of one of those there canisters!" is what you hear all too often from folks around here. I am going to buy a personal Geiger counter. My thorns are starting to glow in the dark.
Start w/ an AN/PDR -37 and a -45. That will get you a great start. After you log your data, put it up for all to review, It will surprise you, the Sun still wins!!!!!

Little wonder when the Chamber members who own the home care businesses and retirement communities tout Carlsbad as a "Retirement" town. Maybe we could put some the retirees to work in the nuclear plants, like the door greeters at Wal Mart. The city better make a decision, do we want a retirement community with no future other than Nurse aides for the graduates? Or do we want something dynamic and promising? Well, you already know the answer to that. The City dads and the DOD don't want any big money or power players in here. That would take away their thunder.

Exactly Hal. Thanks. The milk never tasted
sweeter than from those lead-lined canisters our pioneer forefathers sipped from. They had lead coming out of their teeth! And we are told today - stay out of the sun!

Lead cause known birth defects and physical illness. There's a prime example of romans drinking from lead pipes that have caused liver problems for generations of italians. Lead is a wonderful shielding agent but it is not to be used where it can be consumed or absorbed. Remember the lead pain issues... It's because Poor and Hungry kids eat paint chips.

And staying out of the sun is reasonable due to loss of ozone layers and the higher incidence of skin cancer. If you spent your life in the sun in New Mexico and learned to tolerate it by natural tanning, then you should'nt have to worry. But neither should you try to burn yourself to "well tanned" for the sake of a cool appearance. even people of darker complexions can get skin cancer.

Thanks Hal. I am not being sarcastic by any means, but you must be (someone's) AI program or intellectual of some kind. I'll back off for a while and watch and listen. And to everyone - I am just presenting ideas for discussion and debate, but not trying to offend. So I apologize for any infractions. E.G., The idea of getting a GEIGER counter or building one is not to discredit WIPP but to stimulate scientific interest in "do it yourself science". I understand all of these things are too easily politicized. Prez Bush means well, and I do not
believe he is really involved in making his supporters wealthy at the expense of ordinary U.S. Citizens. We live in difficult times. Social models are complicated, and difficult to understand as Quantum Mechanics and Bohm Effects are. People do the best they can. It is easy to critisize from a back seat. Anyway, good luck to all and to all a good night!
