- Eunice's embattled fire chief may be off the hook.
The findings of a State Department of Health probe are in and at least one official thinks Ron Grogan deserves to keep his paramedics' license.
A hearing officer with the New Mexico Department of Health released a nine-page recommendation on Monday about the alleged sexual misconduct by Chief Grogan back in May.
In the report, the officer says Grogan repeatedly refused to touch an ambulance patients' breast implants, but finally did after she asked several times.
The document also says the patient, who refused to testify under oath, says she never thought there was anything inappropriate about Chief Grogan's contact with her.
Grogan did admit to touching the female patient's implants, but argued since it was consensual.
An earlier decision by the Licensing Board of the Department of Health was unfair.
The hearing officer agreed and said it did not meet the requirements to be considered sexual misconduct.
This recommendation now heads to the Secretary of the Department of Health's desk.
He has ten days to look at it, along with the recommendation from the Licensing Board, before he issues a final decision.

Concensual??? The woman was drugged! He took advantage of her no matter how you look at it!

So you were there? You witnessed what happened? You've read the report on what medications she was given and how much?
He touched her on the sternum (sternum, A long, flat bone located in the center of the chest, serving as a support for the collarbone and ribs. Also called breastbone.) with the back of his hand. He did not grope or feel her up. She repeatedly asked him to feel her breast implants (she's very proud of them apparently). She was not overmedicated, the ER Dr has verified that. She has stated that nothing was inappropriate.
What has Ron done to you or your family that you dislike him so much?
This whole "payback" against Ron, doesn't just affect him. If Ron moves:
Does it give you satisfaction that his in-laws are moving up north, that they are giving up their home that they love? They loved New Mexico (their view is tainted now). They are elderly and dependant on Ron and his wife to help them out.
Does it give you satisfaction that my grandmother may have to leave her home of 50 years and move to a nursing home?

i agree with family of ron i have known ron for years now i have never seen ron do anything like this. some people just watch the news and thats wat they judge by the listen to gossip in that goes around in town by the time the gossip gets to them its all mixed around. But eunice is a small town and all there is to gossip and watch the news. HELLO people grow hell up dont you know the news does what they want they crop and edit news clips to make people look bad. so all the people in eunice that are against ron grogan shame on you by judging him by the news and the citizens of eunice Eunice.

Actually, there are educated individuals in this town who read police reports and criminal affidavits that clearly state Ron Grogan confessed to theft. An educated government health official even ruled that Grogan was a threat to the paramedic profession, so he upheld Grogan's suspension. The citizens of Eunice are basing their judgments on facts that have been presented by our justice system. You can support him all you want with your false sense of truth. The truth and justice have prevailed in this instance, and there is nothing you or Grogan can do about it. The citizens of Eunice are safer now that he is off the streets.
