Review: Conn's Appliance & Electronics

You will regret making any serious purchase from this company, especially if you also purchase their in-house service and maintenance agreement (like an extended warranty). Buying appliances is like spinning a roulette wheel - almost half the time there will be problems of some kind, partly because most everything is made overseas today. But with Conn's, you will likely be treated very poorly if anything goes wrong with the product.
Conn's is one retailer that does offer lower prices, but you should thoroughly check out anything you purchase BEFORE it leaves the store if possible. Make them open the box, plug it in, make sure it works - because this company does NOT stand behind anything they claim. Service or repair may take weeks or months. I know what I'm saying because I briefly worked for this outfit, but could not in good faith sell for them long. I'm not a disgruntled former employee - just someone who could not lie as required.

I purchased 4 mp3 players from Conn's in Euless, TX. 3 of them came with everything in the package just as it stated on the instruction sheet. The 4th one was missing the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. I followed the instructions on the owners manual and returned to Conn's looking for a viable solution. When I returned to Conn's they opened another unit and told me this one didnt come with it either. Their solution,,, just go to Wal-mart and buy the missing piece. I opt for calling the consumer care/tech support line listed in my instructions. They inform me that I will have to pay $6.50 shipping and handling and they will gladly send out the missing part. I tried to explain the piece was never in the package from when we opened it, all to no avail. I call Conn's back,, spoke with the salesperson, I was informed,, her exact words,,,"Well, maybe that is why they were marked down because they were not all there." UNBELIEVEABLE,, they know there are parts missing and they don't think this information is important to the consumer???? Maria, the salespersons solution,, "Well, you can't win them all." True enough I can't win them all, but Conn's could be giving away merchandise and delivering it free to my home and I wouldn't bite. I have made my last purchase there EVER. I have worked in customer service most of my life in one form or another. And, the idea of me ever handling a customer in this fashion is not an option to me. But, apparantely Conn's has no problem with it.

I purchased a washer/dryer Jan 2010 from Conn's I had to call for service on Feb. 2010 a contracted service person came and advised me the part will be order and should arrive within 10 days,now I'm told it will be March before the part is to arrive.
I have spoken with every manager at the store, to no avail they are clueless I was given numbers to call service, the manufactuer and corporate. What an absolute joke.
This is surely a lesson learned, I can cleary understand why so many business are gone out of business.... Perhaps no decent customer service.

thank you guys from saving me from conns. I was about to buy tv there. No way, my money wont go there.
