On Dec. 4, 2008, a homeless man called 911 to report that he had found a dead body seated on a bench, slumped forward with the head resting on a picnic table, in Sylvania Park.

I saw this in the newspaper today, says a lot about his parents and family.

I agree...the M.E. did due diligence in trying to notify someone, it's not their job to keep up with a homeless druggie. If the family is "so concerned" then they should have in better contact with him and then they would have known themselves.

but he is a homeless druggie with rich stepdaddy and famous mother who may also be wealthy.

As I see it the wealthy family should be repaying the city for the first burial as city did do their part to try to find someone to claim his body. I believe the city will not be repaid and may take on more expense with this situation.

Totally agree. If his family wants his body, then they should pay for the exhuming not the city. But we all know the wealthy reaps benefits in all ways that the average Joe don't and or ever will.
