[this is what i know]

They are in the process of building a new covered bridge road that will go beetween the ash ponds and the backside of coveredbridge springs subdivision and come back out at atwood road. I heard the reason is twofold. One is that the traffic crossing from the main plant to the ashponds is increasing due to the scruuber project.
The second reason is security. The current road is goes to close to vital parts of the power plant. i heard georgia power is paying for the new road and will turn it over to the county the old one is owned by the county and will become part of plant bowens property. The only ones that might have all the answers are georgia power and clarence browns office

Plant Bowen is the only Power Plant with a road running right through the middle of it.

This has been in the works since shortly after 911. It is old news. I don't know what is taking them so long tho, it might be all the sinkholes in the ash pond that have been blowing out into Euharlee Creek. Uh oh maybe I shouldn't have said anything about that.
