I have watched how every discusion turns into a place to bash councilmen or citizens that have different ideas than the current mayor. I would appreciate it if this one did not.
In all sincerity, I am asking that citizens can tell me what the current mayor has accomplished during her term. I would like solid proof of something good she has done. I would prefer that it be facts and not opinions.
I do not harbor any ill feelings towards her or any other City of Euharlee representative, I would just like some information.

I am glad you formatted your post like that. At the moment I can not say with any accuracy what she has accomplished. I can however state without a doubt that she is as Honest as a Mayor can get. I am pretty sure that the mayor of any small town is for the most part is there to break a voting tie. It is council members who accomplish things. Usually in conjunction with the Zoning and Planning commission. Bottom line it is all team work. And of course some things will not satisfy everyone. No one person can take credit for everything. The problem is how individuals come to a decision. It seems that a select few have taken an approach that is not beneficial to the good citizens of Euharlee. Please don't ask me what that approach is because I won't tell you. All I can say is go to the meeting and I don't mean one or two I mean all of them. Talk to a diverse selection of citizens. Ask questions. In fact read all the post. Look at them real close. I know there have been some harsh statements, but look at the questions that are asked. Not one has been answered. This coalition they speak about has been bashed to death, but when the Information Officer asked to point out a non fact or inaccurate statement. Guess what? No answer. Only bashing in return. I could go on and on but what’s the use. I hope you find the truth. There is a hint though. It’s within reach.

Thank you for your time

Okay now I am open for bashing.

The job of mayor has been really tough under the current council. One example real quick. At the budget work sessions, two councilmen and the mayor would try to come up with cuts; two would sit there and offer nothing, simply refusing to cooperate. Then, when no meaningful cuts could be made, you'd hear that we didn't have a budget because of the mayor and city manager. The city manager has no say in this, so you knew right away that the two coucilmen were not cooperating nor contributing solely so they could continue the rumors about the mayor and manager. Finally, at a city council meeting the mayor demanded that there be a vote on the budget. The two uncooperative councilmen complained that they had not had time to read the new budget, although it had been available at city hall for them for a week. So the vote was two councilmen for, two against. The mayor broke the tie by voting (which she can do only in a tie) for the new budget.
The only thing I can come up with is stalling and driving the city into debt served as fodder for the rumor mills, and that was more important to the two councilmen than doing their duties.
So, the fact that the mayor has survived and brought the city this far considering what she's had to contend with is remarkable in itself.
Please start attending city council meetings, and you'll see for yourself exactly what I'm describing. It seems that some on here think that if you yell loud enough, or if you use an abundance of profanity in your posts, it adds credibility to the content. Read the posts on here that appear credible and go to council meetings and see for yourself. That way you'll make the right decision when November comes.

Sorry, this crew is always going to bash two council members. They created a website just for it.
The only good thing said was to go to the meeting yourself. You rally need to form your own truth though, you will NOT get it here.

We do that only because they've performed in a manner that so deserves it. What website are you referring to? One of the councilmen you defend publicly stated after being elected that his goal was to destroy the city of Euharlee. Are you surprised that we should not back him? We don't have the same goals. We want the city to do well, not be destroyed. It's as simple as that. He also passed out posters with a little boy urinating on the words "Euharlee Police". And people should support this man? Only those that share his goals. So, your post is partially correct: We don't like this guy and what he's publicly stated he wants to achieve. Why do you?

"Say it again" has been asked MANY TIMES to point out the inaccuracies on the coalition website. She has never answered that question. And she never will. "Say it again" has the opportunity to submit an op-ed article if she likes. She won't do that either. That website invited ALL potential candidates to participate. No one responded. Why is that?

I made a mistake in the above post. That website invited ALL potential candidates to participate. Some have responded. But LJ, RB, or MM. I wonder why.

I hope we've given 'Registered voter' some information before things on this thread start going downhill, as they seem to always do. I hope he/she will start attending city council meetings and work sessions and get an idea of how things work in a small town. In fact, the upcoming council meeting may be a good one in that the recommendations by Ron Goss will probably be discussed and maybe even voted on. That may help to put things in perspective. I don't know the date right now, but I'm sure someone can post it on here. Anyway, I'm so glad to see some citizen interest. I have to admit that in the past I was lax in being a responsible citizen, and that's not good for anyone. We should all try to have a good idea of what's going on, who does what, and the cost or benefit to the city of any particular action. That way we can eventually have responsible representatives with only the best interests of the city at heart.

Registered Voter, I am very glad to read your post, but I have to agree with the ones that really are trying to answer in the way you ask!
I go to some of the meetings, and I will tell you if you want to know the facts, come to the meetings. Reg.Council meetings are the 1st Tuesday of each month, and the work sessions are usually the 3rd Tuesday of each month. The meetings start at 7Pm. And some times they have called meetings. This is entirely the only way you will know the truth, and I guarrantee you it wont take you long to know the truth.

Time for a prediction. Joe Turner gets re-elected, Rick Brasilton maybe, but he has some competition on the way and lastly Kathy Foulk gets re-elected. Mike Miller and Lance Jacobs have a better chance selling ice cubes to Eskimos.
