Why did the person who originally saw the truck parked there with the dog in it wait a few days before calling sheriff's office?

The family of Bobby Jamison, Sherrilynn Jamison and their 6 year old child Madyson Jamison have been missing since October 7, 2009, although they were not officially reported missing until October 17. Their white pick truck was found on October 17 on Panola Mountain about 30 miles from the family’s Eufaula home with a little dog inside. The family was no where to be found.

Inside the Latimer County sheriff’s department found money, coats, cell phones and the family’s dog.

During a search on Friday, investigators found a pocket knife. Sheriff Israel Beauchamp said pictures of the knife would be shown to the Jamison’s family members to determine if it was a knife the couple owned.

“It was reported to us on Saturday, Oct. 17,” Wells said.“Some people called and said a vehicle had been sitting by the side of the road for some time with an animal in it.

“Their white pickup was found on Panola Mountain, near Red Oak,” said Latimer County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chuck Wells. Law enforcement officers found the pick-up Saturday parked on a dirt road in an isolated area near a well-site where a natural gas drilling rig had once been, according to Wells.

“When their pick-up truck was found, there was a little dog inside that was still alive,” Wells said. Law enforcement officers also found a sizable amount of cash in the pick-up, he said.

The family was reported to be looking to buy land in the area. However, Sheriff Israel Beauchamp said they are not ruling out foul play.

The search for the missing Jamison family scaled back.

That info has not been updated since the end of October. Have the authorities just put the file in the unsolved pile? It would be nice for them to at least reassure the family that they are still investigating.

Has anyone else noticed how someone is "judging" all the comments on the sites about the missing family. Almost every comment is being "judged" negatively. I wonder why and I also wonder who is doing this "judging."
One of the"missing family" members maybe. Who knows, could be.

I could be wrong here but the LE needs to release more info about this case if the family is going to be found. That is unless they know where they already are. I think that it is very ODD that the family has not been in the media begging and pleading for the release of their family members, or information regarding the whereabouts.

I agree with you. It is very odd. Not one word from anyone on this missing family. Maybe they were never really missing after all.

I live in Missouri and just happened upon this story, courtesy of TOPIX (Thank you). I am suprised (and disappointed) that this story hasn't made national news. Any leads, they may have gotten, would be cold by now.

I just still think it's so unusual that someone would see a truck with a dog in it and not report it for so long....???

Is there a river or lake close to where the pick up was found? It is VERY strange that no family members are trying to keep this in the news and pleading for any help in this situation. Especially since there is a little girl involved. This is just too weird. IF someone took them, you would think they would search the truck and take the money!

Yes, this is a most peculiar case isn't it? I am still praying for the safe return of this family. I guess at this point only God knows for sure where they are. God Speed.

No river or creek close by no mines where their truck was just a lot of trees and rocks

It is absolutely stunnishing that someone, even an entire family, can simply vanish as if they never existed... I am a rational person but sometimes I begin to wonder if indeed there is something as UFO interference involved, it isn't because we don't know about it, have seen it or have evidence of its existance that it doesn't linger out there somewhere. I know this sound maybe dumb but if all rational explanations come to a standstill what else have we to go with?
I hope they didn't meet a violent ending and that it just was an accidant or even better, they are indeed somewhere staying, of their own free will and not been forthcoming for whatever reason. But I cannot help but wonder, if they voluntarily vanished, why did they leave the dog behind, the dog is the only part of this whole puzzle that isn't adding up... makes me believe, like many others, a third party is involved and they were taken away by vehicle to other parts in the area, if I read correctly about all the heavily wooded thick areas and mines and wells, it wouldn't be extremely difficult, even for a person without former experience, to make a body or bodies disappear out there.
Praying for them, especially for the little girl.
God bless all those involved and the family. I wish your nightmare will soon be over.

I have been following this story since the start pretty much.I"m sure there are other cases similar to this one but this particular one is very hard to follow because of the silence of the news media and LE!!In this day of time how does a whole family just vanish into thin air?Now another man has gone missing with no apparent leads.I can only guess at what the families of these people are going through!!MAY GOD BLESS THEIR LOVED ONES!!!!!

This is just the saddest case ever! I just wonder if authorities know more than what they are putting out there? I just don't understand why Law Enforcement is being so hush hush about everything....

I think the family was never missing in the first place. I also think the family of this "missing family????" and law enforcement know where the missing family is. They are probably scared to mention the "family" was never really missing in the first place after all the searching and effort that was put forward trying to find the "missing family."
