Now I am all for publishing names of local underage drunks when they have LOCAL violations, but what purpose is served by publishing this information for actions that happened in Shippensburg??????

One of YDR's quotas for their writers is the amount of people they embarrass weekly. They get it in any way they can.

This article is a complete waste of space!!! YDR revels in the embarrassment of these young people and their families by printing this in there hometown newspaper. Yet when real crimes occur right here in York like rape, assault, or armed robbery,YDR refuses to print the color of the criminal when reporting their discription.

No wonder they can't sell newspapers.

When they bother to report the crime at all, compare the York City Police blotter (notoriously missing known crimes itself) to the number and severity of crimes reported by the paper.

I still disagree with the idea of taking licenses for underage if there is no vehicle involved. I understand that its supposed to be a deterant for the kiddies, but wtf? Fines, community service, classes...ok. Licenses for unrelated offenses is BS. Thats like taking someones hunting license for speeding.

Hey, lots of college students drink before 21, but getting mad at the newspaper for printing it? Hey, that's the chance you take. If you don't want to be embarrassed, don't get caught.

Lots of enablers here. I am sure that many of you go on about personal responsibility, taking responsibility for actions, etc., but don't practice it.

Well, if they ever reinstitute the draft, or these young drunks show me their military ID I would be glad to but them a drink (if they changed the law to say they could if they were in the military)

George again with you being the authority. There is a diff between the laws that our power hungry politicians pass and individial reality.

Being ex military, there is an argument to be made here. If I am mature and secure enough to analyze a sat image and call in an airstrike , or fire a round at an enemy, i may be able to be entitled to drink alchohol.

So now we are years into these oppressive, symbolic programs. Guess what, its isnt working. Underage drinking is at an all time high. Is prohibition the answer?

Prohibition never fixed anything, except profit margins.
