Estes Park board of education to discuss pending legislation concerning guns in schools

There's a lot going on in the state of Colorado around the subject of guns in schools - who should have them, when and why.

Guns are everywhere in Estes Park (and anywhere else). I know of a half dozen business owners in EP that carry every day, and have for years. I feel more comfortable in their business, as if they were looking out for my safety.

Please, a SIGN that says no guns allowed on the school campus. Lets be honest school board, and if you choose to continue to not allow guns to be carried on the campus, post a WELCOME BAD GUYS sign, since the rule followers will respectfully do what you mandate, and they are the ones that should be carrying protection on campus. Even if the school resource officer is on the ES campus, and a gun-totin' bad guy shows up at the HS campus, do you think the minutes that it takes to notify the policeman and respond will be fast enough if it's your child in danger?

There are liabilities being created by the pandemonium to 'STOP GUNS' in the hands of good guys. I'll suggest that when the good guys are unable to defend themselves thanks to this STOP GUNS movement, those that rush to post NO GUN signs will wish they had thought a little bit more about taking good guys guns away.
