People seemed to always create the problem.

People are the problem, but lazy restaurant owners who leave their garbage open all the time create most of the problems. Drive by some of them like the "Other Side" restaurant by the route 66 spur and "Smokin Daves" in the same area. These guys make tons of money in the summer yet they pile their garbage outside for everyone to see. This has caused bear-human problems for us who also work in the same area. The cops don't care since the town govt says don't hassle the restaurants and other businesses. Maybe a boycott of these places this winter when they are less busy would be the best and cheapest approach. If the don't care that their garbage and grease draws in bears that then go to other businesses, then we shouldn't support them.

We need to moider a bunch of people, and then make it approximately even as far as number of bears versus number of people. Or the BearsRNuts committee should just off themselves.

was there any discussion about mandating bear proof garbage containers for all businesses, at least those that have food on the premises? what happened out at Elkhorn Lodge might also be a wake up call to re word some laws already in place so that type of incident cannot happen again, & if it does, much stiffer fines could be in place. i look forward to reading the full write up :0)

This from an outsider to your beautiful town. Compared to what you'd be losing from not having this wild life around; it would appear that it would be a good idea to put the garbage in "bear proof" containers. Remember; they were here first.
We are the intruders in their world. Let them remain as our "wild" neighbors, and let us do the right thing not to incourage them to look for food in town by cleaning up our messes. Be a good neighbor and put your trash in a container they cannot get into.

And when can we look forward to visiting the wild free-ranging bison herds in you part of the U.S.? After all, they were there first.

While I'm glad you enjoy Estes Park, and I hope you come back again, visiting here for a few days or week or two a year doesn't really qualify you to consider the bears of this area as "neighbors" of yours. Please do your bit the next time you come and ask business owners you frequent if they have bear-proofed their trash containers.

How are things in the Beckley cave hole? Does JustSprayinEP have a fixation with free-ranging bison? Does he only have this rejoinder to the bear lovers? How bout we string Beckley Sprayin up on a pole and roast him like a free ragin bi-
son?

Free ranging bison?

Free ranging bison?

Can you think of any other species of animal besides free ranging bison, moron?
