Time to harass the wild beasties out of town. Use dogs, use fireworks, use whatever. There is plenty of habitat in the National Forest east of Estes, and plenty of room for them to move into Rocky. The elk only started dropping calves here in town within the past 10-15 years, and this sub-herd of cows has been growing and is becoming a resident herd.

Or, perhaps, this is what the people here want. What the heck, let a few people get trampled! The elk were here first, right?

As far as Chief Kufeld's comments to avoid the elk, I call B.S.- the rest of you can cower inside if you wish, but if I'm attacked or even threatened by an elk on my property, that will be a dead elk. No "illegal hunting", no "poaching" - just self defense.

in West Virginia, Beckley. What do you care about elk? Shouldn't you care about being attacked by rampant neo-Nazis or striking coal miners, or your daughter who doubles as your wife? Get a real location, and come out of hiding.

Has finally come out of hiding, and now comments on Estes Park from 60 miles away, rather than 6000 miles away. I wonder if his embarassment about his West Virginia roots finally pushed him over the edge?
