Can the community say no politely to Greg Rosener, in hopes he will go away?

Greg Rosener should keep his opinion to himself. This entire project reeks of self-serving gain, at the astronomical risk of forever removing the small-town charm of Estes Park. If people want a broader economic platform, they should consider relocating to the Front Range and enjoy the madness of any one of those towns/cities from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs. Cullen and his posse are clearly preying upon the post-flood emotion of the Estes Park residents. That alone speaks to the character and concern of these money-grubbin' hooligans. Shameful.

If we don't get X, Estes Park will die. Gosh I don't know how we've survived all these years without a Space Center, a Domed Stadium, Open Pit Mining, an IMAX Theater, a Semi-Pro Roller Derby Team, etc., etc.
Take your crappy glorified fat camp to Lubbock, Texas.

All three previous comments speak the truth. As for Cullen pressuring the town by stating that the money for this ridiculous project may not be available next year, so what! It's amazing how quaint and serene Estes Park has been without the big city amenities until now. A man of Cullen's stature will be able to get funding for anything at any time. Look up Grand Heritage Hotels. They're all over the world with more in the planning stages. Let's hope the voters use good sense and turn down the sale of Lot 4 for this egotistical self righteous money monger.

Mr. Cullen's lawyer stated at a Town information session that the CO grant money to support wellness projects" in CO will still be available after Jan 1, 2014. Therefore, this is not a kill shot for the project if it is voted down this year due to a lack of details.
While this project will bring some new jobs to EP, it is also classified as a non-profit facility. That means that while the lodging facility for clients at the facility would be taxable, the actual physical programs that clients buy are tax exempt. This is not a kill shot for the program either, it does significantly reduce the tax dollars that the State and Town will get from this facility and its business. The large Anshutz facility in Aurora is said to be losing money and survives only because of large subsidies from the Anshutz foundation. Will this be the case for the Estes Park facility as well? If so, then subsidies are indeed needed to make it work.

This time of year, with so many preoccupied with the flood, winter, lack of business ,etc...Why do so few get the right to vote for so many? And no mail in ballots.
I agree with the above, why the rush? And thank good grace that the ordinance to force lot 4 to a public vote exists. It was put in place 2008 after the town council sold lot 4 in secret executive session; 40% under market value and with a previously undisclosed development plan. They were sued for the minutes to this clandestine meeting to expose the unseemly breach of government protocol.
I hope every registered town resident votes well and loud for the 3-4, or so ,voters of the Estes Valley as a whole who can't.
Is it time that we expand the voter roles to include those who have to follow Estes Parks ordinances, building codes, laws and be taxed without a right to vote? I believe we are missing out on educated populace , with good broad opinion, that currently are disenfranchised.
