Every official in every town bordering every national park has written the same exact letter, bemoaning the fact that they don't have any other money source and never had except tresspassing up against a national treasure and destroying its beauty with cheap commercial dumptruck candy stores and nicknack shops.

Why should the government bail you out of stupid? Fix the roads and stop building on the flood plain. Enlist JustSayinEP and his band of experts to fix your problems. As soon as they convert to Mormon, most of what they do behind closed doors with their next of kin will be legle.

congress presented a bill to open the parks but the democrats refused. Need a peaceful assembly at Beaver Meadows and mass civil disobedience to protest this nonsense of closing parks. I can understand closing visitor centers restrooms etc but nature is there and cost nothing to look at and hike thru. Trail maintenance can be deferred. Even allow worker to volunteer since they get paid anyhow.

Strange that every crisis brings out comments like that of Dumper than a Post above. Whoever he/she is, the Estes Park spirit is missing in them.

Does this mean alcoholic spirit, proof 70, or does this mean haunted spirit, like the Stanley? George, go back to your looser Cowboys, you don't even know what Estes Park spirit is, bcuz you drive up here once a year and pretend to own the place. Mostly it is just your cow$hit stench that overwhelms your neighbors.

What, did you buy a one-room hovel and now think you are entitled to spew opinions about decorating with pine cones and hiking to the top of Mount Dumpster?

What was supposed to be a silent protest at Beaver Crossing turned into a fracas and two police officers assaulted.

Bloddy noses, people hitting the cops with homemade signs and sticks, ouch.

This will give Estes Park a big black eye.

Always so mean and insulting, can't you ever make a valid point without resorting to juvenile, playground tactics with name calling and insults?
You know, actual dialogue, conversation, making an actual point instead of just being an on line bully.
