Not going to happen!!
When the voters go to the polls and declare a resounding NO to the sale of Lot 4, I hope all of these biased attempts to get this thing approved will end.
My guess is they will implement other transparent tactics, unfortunately.
Well

Mike Wilson-----Heaven forbid we bring something to town that would produce jobs and have the domino effect on small businessess. People to work!! Kids to go to school!! People to shop in town!!! Payment to the town for the lot!! If the Friends of Lot 4 win they should pay the town for the lot. PEOPLE----this town is not the same as it was twenty years ago----we need to do something to generate more business. Many businesses are struggling to survive with a four month revenue period... PLEASE--help the town survive and vote YES!!!!!

You obviously haven't read the contract signed between the town and John Cullen. There is no mention whatsoever of a guarantee that the Wellness center will be built. It states that if The Med Center doesn't come up with the money by a certain date that John Cullen will own the lot and can do whatever he wants with it. As for producing jobs, for who? Have you seen the list of proposed jobs that the proposed wellness center will produce? I have. Out of 45 listed only about eight of them can be filled by current residents. And those are front desk personnel, grounds keepers, custodians, and such. The majority are doctors, physical therapists, hell, doctors, lawyers, and Indian Chiefs. Wake up people and smell the roses. It doesn't take a yes vote for this town to survive.

Jake is right. Check out the Town Web Cite and read the contract. It's available for public viewing. The one who stands to win this fiasco is John Cullen, one way or the other.
