the "seasoned citizens" of Estes Park are much more of a hazard than teen drives. They drive 30 (maybe) in a 45 and piss off everyone behind them with no intention of pulling off the road to let the collective 15 cars behind them pass. Then there's the daily event of them pulling out in front of you causing you to break and skid and there isn't one car behind you for miles. They can't wait that 1 second and let you pass. Then they drive 30 (maybe) in a 45 and you are stuck behind them.
It seems the seniors get off on this type of thing and it isn't funny. I wish the police would pull them over for not keeping up with the speed limit and causing road rage for all of their "victims". In Oregon you can be ticketed for holding up more than 6 cars behind you. Let's institute that rather than being politically correct and blaming teens for all the problems on the roads.
Then there's the canyon but that's another subject.
I agree

The blue haired rolling road blocks need to be tested every year for driving skills (or lack thereof). It is horrible in Estes park but because they "own" the town the police turn the other way. Not good enough anymore. A petition will be started as I speak to get these menaces off the road or pass the test. We have fine public transportation they can take which will be safer for ALL of us.
And I suppose

That you are the perfect driver and obey ALL rules of the road. You have the nerve to blame one group in particular! I for one could point out numerous times I have been tailgated in EP and surrounding areas by young and old, male and female, while doing the speed limit or even over it. Get off your high horse and spread the blame. I guarantee you're not perfect!
No thank you

I will not spread the blame. As they say it's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If I were you I would continue to admire Estes Park from afar. No question the mountains are beautiful but the town itself is nuts. Everyone is a chief and there are no Indians. It is cut-throat and vicious from the town government to the school district, the fire district, etc. Continue to enjoy your pictures and keep Estes Park in your mind and thoughts as the geological beauty it is because after that the gloves are off.

Part time? Stay in Minn. This town is a hell hole! Looks are deceiving
