The most recent news update on the town website that the moron a few days ago claimed provided everything we needed was December 10, or NINE DAYS AGO.

We are paying a Pubic Information Officer $72,000 annually to put something on the website when he or she gets around to it.

Hell, I could do that job.

Totally agree with Nirvana. I am so sorry to the family of the young girl; such a tragedy. May she rest in peace. I am from Estes and still live here and I cringe to know that there are so many ignorant people in Estes. GET A LIFE! I suppose this is the only outlet you use because no one in your REAL life will listen to you...because you are ignorant.

Because you do

Again, I wish the dumb people on this board would understand that there is absolutely no confirmation that a young girl is the victim. There are a bunch of unidentified, unregistered people posting this information, and acting as if the whole town knows, but how exactly does the whole town know?

Direct us to the website or news source that would tell us the victim is a young girl.

If 100 unidentified, unregistered posts said the victim was a garden gnome, would this make it true?

So how exactly are we supposed to KNOW that the victim is a young girl and we should stop worrying about it.

Is there some kind of telephone number we can call to get the latest gossip, or some kind of bridge club that we should asked to be invited to? How do those of us living here but on the "outside" of this all-powerful news source that others apparently know all about but refuse to reveal gain access to it.

Or, here's another way to approach the same question: Shouldn't all taxpayers have access to the same information? Isn't this why we pay so much to staff the Pubic Information Office? Or is this like Animal Farm, where all are equal but some are more equal than others?

fix it, either by politely asking news providers in the community to write actual stories instead of wasting everyones time with childish attempts at getting more website traffic

require registration on message boards, and make people post with their real names, or at least with only one identity instead of multiple fractured identities

Either one of these would fix a lot of these recurrencing problems.

Dear Dipwad,

"If" I am grieving so much? The person who died is my family. Referring to a beautiful life, a beautiful smile as an "armchair"...." go to Estes and get shot"..and all the other nonsence you have posted because you are probably morbidly obese and have nothing to do but sit and argue with strangers. You remind me of someone from Westboro Church, so I guess I should thank you for not picketing her funeral today, you heartless a-hole. To the rest, I understand the curiosity, but pls remember real people are hurting over this and again, there is no killer at large. I won't be coming back to this thread. One last thing: if any of you are ever hurting, pls reach out to someone - we all have someone who cares about each one of us.

Dear Kurt C.

Please, don't flatter yourself. You don't know anything, and you will be right back on this thread after I post, either as "Nirvan" or "Dirtbag" or some other silly handle.

You don't know anything more about this event than anybody else on this board. You are simply grandstanding.

Provide a name, either for yourself or for the victim. Otherwise, stop posturing and crying those big crocodile tears.

Your turn.

Okay, I promised myself I wouldn't post again on this topic, because I am griefing so heavily....But I can't tear myself away from the computer on this my saddest day of morning...If anyone out there neads help, please call a grief counselor. There are a bunch of heartless shi$$y people out their, or should I say shitty people out there, I have trouble remembering how I curse from pillar to post....In any way, I know what I know, and I know it was my family or some family that was shot or did the shooting or got a flu shot or something...I promise I will never post on this again, until I do...Please get help, everyone, and understand that it is important that nobody know what is going on, as you would have the same sympathy for I if you had been doing something or have something done that no one could ever know about. Pls hug your kids if you have them and don't get all darpy.

Estes Park is not the only place that has changed the frequencies that EMS personnel use. There are smart phone apps that allow you to access the radio traffic of Police, fire and so on.
As to the embargo of information: Maybe too many people watch all of the incarnations of CSI on TV and think that the case will be wrapped up before they drag their ample posterior off the couch to grab a snack before the next show starts. Outside investigators are called in on a case like this. It takes time to officially determine what happened and release the news to the press.
In case some of you have not noticed this story ran on the Trail-Gazette website. They have people that update stories of interest(Fern Lake fire) on the weekends. Obituary information is printed only if the family allows it. If indeed this was a suicide and IF there were any underage people involved, you have a whole new set of rules that are to be followed. If this was your family member would you like any paper to run with unconfirmed or false information? The brother of the murderer in Connecticut was initially named as the killer because his ID was found on his brothers body.
I do not agree with everything either paper does. Unfortunately the police dept. only releases the incidents involving police or EMS contact that they deem newsworthy or of interest. Often an incident happens in unincorporated areas of the county. As a result the county must be contacted for further information.
Regarding the "crap festivals" in this town. Many businesses rely on the traffic generated by these festivals. I agree 100% that the PD should update this story if there are any updates. If this had been a drive by or a robbery and murder scenario I know that the PD would have been making people aware of the situation and offering help if needed.
Finally. You can look at Town of Estes Park's website and see videos of Town Board meetings. And you can always look at the minutes of ALL meetings. And no I don't work as a P.R. flak for the Town or any other public agency with a vested interest. Just a little tired of the garbage that people hurl around based on rumors and worded in a way that leads people to believe that you really don't know what you're talking about.
So are you the Mayor or the Police Chief?

No update has been provided on something we are all expectantly awaiting an update on.

Oh well, no use beating a dead horse.

Wait, was the "Estes Park Resident" that was shot a dead horse?

Page 4..........And now the rest of the story..........This whole thing just turns out to be a misunderstanding.......A film was being shot in Estes Park on Hidden Valley ski area........And that is what the police were called in on.........A resident of Estes Park, the former Hidden Valley ski area and ranch dressing, was being shot on December 12..........Guuuud day.
