I think her comments were spot on. EP has historically been a family-owned/retirement community. SICK and TIRED of the progressives that want to make it bigger and definitely not better. People who have transplanted knew full and well going into EP that it is basically a retirement/tourist community. It's absolutely shameful and disgusting how the come to our state/county/town and shove their greedy self-serving agenda down our throats. I support Wendy Koenig 100% and I hope she stands strong. I also hope the wellness center doesn't pass on April 1st. Transplants are raping EP and need to go somewhere else!!!

Shows you what kind of town this is when you can't even say the obvious truth here. Mr. Dickey is a complete idiot!

Chuck is out of touch with the reality of Estes Park. Unless you live under a rock it is obvious that this town has quickly become a sanctuary town for Mexicans. They are everywhere and contribute nothing except maybe cheap labor. Before you espouse your sheltered thinking spend a day in the schools Chuck. Your opinion will quickly change. Drive around certain places in town, at night Chuck but lock your doors and roll up your windows unless you are soliciting drugs. Check out the teen pregnancy rate Chuck (anchor babies) and drop out rate in the school district. But the bottom line Chuck is that the illegals are breaking THE LAW. How on earth is that racist?

as news. Not everyone thinks that Ms. Koenig's remarks were "insensitive".

Hey Trail Gazette! How about reporting the NEWS and stop injecting your OPINIONS into news articles? Yes, it is fair to say that some think the remarks were insensitive. But it is also fair to say that there are an equal number of folks - or more - who think the remarks were right on the mark.

Just when we think the "newspaper" can't sink any lower, they find a new way........

Why is someone who has issues with someone who is ILLEGAL, called racist ? Why does one who feels unconfortable with a seemingly very large number of follks in the country who choose not to assimilate, called racist ? Why is one who feels the country at all levels is coddling and sheltering a certain group of people/immigrants, above others, called racist?

I would hope it's reasonable to accept differing values and dialog. Without the labeling of people who have those different opinions.Just all too often lately, if one expresses a diffferent view on something. They quickly get labeled as; hateful, racist, homophobe, unAmerican, angry, unhappy, etc....That seems to me, to be the 'attack the messenger' tactic. When one dosen't have an informative response..
.
Me, I'm thankful I didn't have to press 1, to type this in English...

racist so the real non-tolerant folks can shut us up. Fortunately it does not work anymore since their beliefs are flawed and the facts/data is true.

voting for the gals for trustee. Maybe Fishman, also, because he'd have the strength to hear them out, and I feel I'd have a voice on that board if he was on it. He comes to us, out of his way , for our opinion.
