Should we listen to this man? Perhaps we should listen to the fat, screaming, red-faced woman with code pink instead. Or the illegal decree of an unconstitutional & criminal president. Or all the people who can't own a firearm legally because of their past history of crime. Get serious.....this man is a hero. Either way, we have more guns, including AR-15's, in Florida than just about any state.....and we're not giving them up. We are strong and you are weak. Unconstitutional laws aren't laws......guess you'll just have to come try to take them..........a-Ha! Checkmate! LEGAL GUNS END THUGGERY. We will never give 1 inch on this.......come try to take them!

<QUOTE>Arthur Hayhoe, executive director of the Florida Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, called the sheriffs' statement "disappointing."

"These guys are elected so they tread very carefully when talking about the Second Amendment," he said. "You wouldn't get that out of city police chiefs that are appointed."</QUOTE>
So Arthur Hayhoe is unhappy that an elected official, accountable to the voters, is not on the same page as an appointed police chief. I guess the solution is either a one-party system like in China or to eliminate democracy altogether and have all lawmakers appointed by a politburo instead of voted in by the people. It would certainly remove the "accountable to the people" aspect of being a public official and having to listen to them.
