Looking for information about a murder in Rosedale in c. 1910

The story goes that a rail rider came through Rosedale on the train and murdered a brother and sister who lived at a house near the tracks. My grandfather told me this story, and of how, when his family moved into the house in the 1920's there were still handprints in dried blood on the walls, etc. and that the house had long been untenated because of the murder. Later, this same house would be the scene of my great-grandfather's murder in July of 1950. If anyone in the Rosedale/Essex area has heard of these stories or of either one, or can point me in the direction of sources for information that might shed light on this house (now since burned down), or could scan through back copies of the local papers for that information, I would greatly appreciate the help. I live in Japan and don't get back to the United States too often.
