Fight to require home sprinklers ongoing in Massachusetts
HOLYOKE, Mass.-A fatal rooming house fire 30 years ago on July 4 led the Massachusetts Legislature to quickly pass legislation allowing local communities in the Commonwealth to require sprinklers in boarding houses.

Although I like the idea of a home fire sprinkler system, I am not sure how much I would trust it when there is not a fire.
I guess I do not really understand how they work.
I have had quite a few false smoke alarms and burgled alarms. That is annoying enough.
But if a sprinkler system was activated and a false alarm, the damages would be pretty bad.
So, what are the chances of a false alarm and the sprinklers going off?
