Show me where Denish is doing the same thing? The LCSN wrote a story that Martinez is "traveling around New Mexico this week to meet with constituents and listen to their concerns." Sounds like Susana is doing this on DA work time.

It was in the sun news too - she was here on Wednesday, then headed to Deming, Silver City, Farmington, Carlsbad, etc. Denish is doing the exact same thing and on our dime.

Did this women subpoena any elected officials for corruption or graft in her jurisdiction while she was working for the Government as a DA?

Personally, I think she has very limited appeal to people who want to see the state grow. I do not like that she has taken a bunch of out of state money, and I hate that she is a Texas transplant. I can not stand Texas and Texans. All a bunch of arrogant arrses over in Texas.

That is a interesting thought. I wonder if there is a law against a DA holding a DA office and running for a political postion? Could it be a conflict of interest?

Republicans suck... we have such short memories, don't you all remember who got us in all the trouble we're in? Hypocrites down the line. Family values, competition, less government?.......all just talk to get into power and then raise the prices on everything from cable tv to gasoline to cell phone usage and everything in between including taxes. Yes I said it, TAXES!

as a texan...i'll let that slide the important thing here is susana martinez the joke of all jokes.

here's something i like in the article:

""Denish really doesn't know what she is talking about when it comes to my conviction record or my ability to have a very strong and tough stance in the prosecution of cases in my office," she said. "Denish is doing it to avoid discussing the issues that are important to New Mexicans. We've got to start talking about what's important to them."

what's important to people are those in office who are actually doing their job, doing it ethically, and as they promised to do. not somebody who is all talk. susana said she'd be tough on child molesters and yet she made plea deals with them. i can say for sure one who admitted to criminal sexual penetration of a minor got probation and completed it and did not have to register as a sex offender all part of his sweet deal.

she's a tough prosecutor more like weak procrastinator. did anyone forget the man, charged with raping a 9 year old, released from jail and charges dismissed because so much time had passed that the victim moved out of the country and was no longer able to testify. so he gets out charges dismissed.

as for conviction record i believe there was one case where she lost to a guy who represented himself pro se, out skilled her in her own arena and got an acquittal!

for those that she did convict. of course those who got court appointed attorneys who for some strange reason choose to side with the prosecutors. they don't work cases. they look for a way to end it with a plea. they take no time to try and get any person free of a charge. i digress...

those that she does convict. maybe had poor attorneys or the accused have no idea what the law actually says so that get jerked around by their attorneys. it could be a number of things, but she did not win because she's an excellent speaker. have you heard this person talk? she stutters and stammers - sounds like somebody lying to me.

as for lying this was my favorite part about the article:

""We prosecute folks who come here and traffic in drugs," Martinez said. "About 500 or 600 people, depending on the year that we arrest, came here illegally and that's their only purpose is to traffic narcotics. They're connected to various organizations that include the Mexican cartels."

and so begins the watering down of her prosecuting drug cartels claim.

so its not the actual cartels, but traffickers and smugglers who are connected/linked to the cartels. as i said in another thread she probably prosecuted some 2-bit hustler who had a friend who's cousin knew a girl that dated a guy...

in that sense she did prosecute a judge so then that would mean she prosecutes the justice system. "she takes on members of the most dangerous justice systems."

true comedy.

I like Martinez's hard-line stance on Mexico and illegal immigration. On the other hand, being a lobbyist-in-training for polluting, reeking dairies and the oil and gas industry gives me pause. In short, yet again, we are left to choose the lesser of two evils with these two candidates. God help us.

Look, do us all a favor and educate yourself. Do your research before spouting off all your nonsense. I've read comment after comment of yours that is so overripe with ignorance. I'd be embarrassed to write half the dimwitted stuff you do. I am embarrassed for you.

Start an account so you can get an education. I'll be the first to contribute to it.

You know why its so windy in New Mexico? Because ARIZONA BLOWS and TEXAS S u c k s! Think that should be the other way around but the wind does come from the west.

Susanna you have my vote, I have worked for the state for 14 years stationed here in Las Cruces and Diane Denish doesn't give a damn about what happens down here because her supporters and "constituents" are all deep pocket transplants that live in Rio Rancho, Abq., and Santa Fe. Who is she anyway, I have never seen or heard of her coming down here to talk to the citizens of Southern New Mexico about issues facing us (ie. immigration, drugs, gangs, jobs, agriculture) but she is up north courting thos edeep pockets though!

Having read so much of your spew...and I mean spew...I start thinking when oh when will someone put this miserable person out of his/her misery? You can't quit railing over something that has already been heard by a court. Get over yourself.

Let's be honest now. You yourself have professed to going to law school but didn't finish. Whether you really did or are just talking out your arse, don't know & don't care. You just sound bitter because this woman (Susana Martinez) did go to law school, graduated, has been instrumental in prosecuting criminals (to include your "friend"), and because you can't handle the reality of your advice to your "friend" probably is why he's behind bars now...GET PSYCHIATRIC COUNSELING. I realize Topix helps you vent, but it isn't doing you any good.

You're a bitter bitter miserable person with a chip, well actually in your case, aBOULDER on your shoulders.
