Per Compact terms New Mexico must provide water supply for rights associated with Elephant Butte Lake. This year project rights were cut back to only 2 acre feet of water. All diversions after 1929 upstream must release water for Elephant Butte's pre existing rights. Santa fe and Alb. will be held accountable.. Stay tune......

And who is paying for the Governor's trip to Mexico?
In the mean time -- State employees must "step up" and do their share to help with the rescission.
And while we are at it let's ask Cabinet Secretaries, and Division Directors to trim another 3% off the States budget...

Cynic, I must agree with you. Sante Fe goes along with interpretating Compact terms favoring Texas so it can steal, unaccountable under the priority doctrine, water from Southern New Mexico. The State Engineer without enforcing the priority rights upstream and down stream of Elephant Butte is placing the taxpayers of New Mexico in countless liability by transfering and permitting junior rights without first adjudicating senior pre 1907 rights. Cynic you might be interested to know that Judge Valentine is adjudicating after over 100 years of Texas and the federal government's illegal embargo(1896) over the waters of the Rio Grande and the people of New Mexico, what rights the US Government actually have. All of New Mexico should be wanting to know this question.
