Some strangers come to the land of enchantment and see only brown. They go back to Oklahoma or where ever and never feel the magic. Others come and are captivated by the many many colors and contours. Lucky them. And then there are the ones who were born here, and when they try living other places they feel a great loss and the pull of the magic and must return.
Gratefully, I am back home and will never leave again.

You won't never leave again. Never say never. I imagine when the once enchanting state we both love is finally overrun from the Latin invasion currently underway that I will leave...for it will lose the magic you spoke of and become Juarez/Palomas. I see it already happening.
New MEXICO! Keyword: Mexico. Latin invasion? Veni, vidi, vici? Is that what they are yelling as they swarm the land in divisional strength?

I agree Old Gringo, pretty soon it won't be any safer here than it is in Juarez or Palomas. If it weren't for the great weather, I wouldn't be here either.

NM is very beautiful, but a place is only as beautiful as the people that live there.
On my travels there I find most of the Hispanic people to be the salt of the Earth type people, and I'm not just saying that because I'm Hispanic, I was there over the fourth of July and oddly I noticed more Hispanics were celebrating this holiday that the white Liberals, whom mostly seem to hate the USA.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all white people do, but it's seems many white liberals do.

I am sure there are a lot of people that enjoy being in the land of entrapment. I am not one of them. NM does have a few nice plces to visit but, really don't like living here. and yes, as soon as I can I am out of here.
NM is a great place for a lot of people, I'm not one of them.

This land is Mexico ya'freekin'idiotas! Your country is younger than one of the high schools in my country.

What you are talking about is akin to a guy from Earth going out into space and then complaining about the lack of oxygen out there.

GET OUT if you don't like the people. Your fakeness serves nobody, namely yourself.

You might talk big here cowardly lions, but you know better than to go talking this stuff outdoors. Hahahahah. We got you all in check. This country was, is, and will always be OURS! It doesn't belong to any one race, therefore it is not exclusive of any one race of people. Get over your racist, idiotic, inbred self for a couple of minutes to pull your head out, and for your own safety and continued cowardness, keep your mouth shut on the streets or you will be dealt with directly. Hahaha. Have a great day losers.

New Mexico is unlike any other state in our union. If NM were to secede from the union, we would be the third nuclear superpower in the world. New Mexico is the site of this nation's oldest capitol city, and the first atomic weapon detonation on Earth. We are host to the highest concentration of millionaires in the world, yet rank among the highest in the country in poverty incedence. Education is also another indicator of the poverty rate. Our greatest strengths are of the underground variety...not readily apparent to the average person.

I've spoken nothing yet of the serene natural beauty, scale, and scope. I've traveled from the many state parks of California to those of New York and haven't found any that rival the wonders of this land. Especially when your outdoor experience is more like staying in a corporate hotel (California BOOOOO!).

If you can't see it, WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT YOU SEE? It's YOUR deal, YOUR problem, YOUR issue. This proud land, and the people who witness her with love, cares not.

Pretty shortsighted when one considers how much their travels generate income in many places. And if Cbad wasn't a straight shot to Mexico we'd never see that business-no one makes this pile a final destinination.
Again you think we care, I could care less how much your bs travels pump money in to places. All out of staters are good for is complaining and tickets. Again for the third time now, we dont want you here anyway.

Your smell probably turns them around somewhere west of Hobbs. Or east of White City if they are coming from that direction.

I love New Mexico and for me it truly is the Land Of Enchantment. I visit often and everytime I go I see more and more beauty in the land and it's people. My travels are to Espanola, Truchas, Cordova and Chimayo of course to visit the Santuario as well as San Juan to enjoy the San Juan Fiestas. I have embraced the rich culture and traditions of my husband's familia there in Nuevo Mexico and could not be more enchanted.

New Mexico COULD be the land of enchantment, but it has been overrun with illegals and liberal/progressives who have ruined their own states and now want to ruin this one. The weather is okay, although I'd sure like to get some of that global warming that Al Gore keeps promising everyone. I moved here from Illinois to get away from snow, and I wish I would have kept my Toro snowthrower. This year we had tons of that nasty white crap. Plus the winds have been horrendous. I've replaced so many roof shingles that I am finally gonna spend the cash (over ten grand) on a metal roof. Enchantment? I guess that would be those hippies in NM that are growing and smoking their whacky tabaccy. It MAY be a nice place to visit, but if I could afford it, I'd move out tomorrow. Only problem is taxes in the places I want to move to are outrageous. And house values in NM have dropped to zero.
