The former owner of Yoshiko Sauna in Duluth has been found competent to understand the prostitution charge against her, allowing the case to advance to further court proceedings.

The woman undoubtedly speaks English but it was probably the court that insisted on the services of an interpreter. It's unlikely that after 44 years in this country she cannot communicate in English. The court is being extra cautious and a bit xenophobic.

What do you think it costs us tax-payers to pay for these interpreters? You commit crime in a country where you don't speak the language, seems like a no-brainer you're in a lot of trouble ~ learn the language or straighten up and fly right.
