I am just gonna lay it all out there. Every facility that is operated has lawsuits. You just don't hear about them. For all of you people that have "witnessed" this neglect and not reported it to authorities, then you are at fault as well. Anyone who observes neglect and doesn't report it is just as bad as the one committing the actual act. For the former nurse that quit because she couldn't "take" any more, you are a pathetic excuse for a nurse. I can't imagine having that type of concern and then just bailing out on people who obviously needed your compassion. You people are niave and clueless.
As a DCP from a local hospital, I place residents in facilities and when all other facilities in this area refuse a person EHCC takes them. Maybe you should consider that this facility has a high behavior acuity because NO one else will take them and as a healthcare provider I know that no matter how hard you try to keep multiple residents dry and clean, they still urinate and poop. I know my poop stinks and I am sure so does yours. Have you ever consider the abuse that they staff have to take from the residents? They are hit and cussed on an hourly basis.
As for the family of the confined lady, honey I have read your FB pages and there just isn't something right about your story. Why was your mother in States custody? Sounds like some abuse from family before she was placed in this psych ward as you call it.
I have read the articles in JC Press about the lawsuits and from what I gather, it is family members that have a feeling of guilt and now they think monetary compensation will help with their guilt. WOW!! That is horrible! If I had a feeling that my family was abused or neglected, I would not have taken them out of the facility just to return them in a week. Does that sound like a concerned family member? And, I would have been at the facilty more frequently and at different hours, if I had a concern.
I had a family member that was a resident of EHCC for many years and NEVER did I have a concern. the staff is competent to take care of people. Never was she abused, neglected, have MRSA, or left sitting dirty all day. She was happy, loved the staff and never had an ill word to say about anyone.
You people that are saying all this bad stuff about this facility need to be ashamed.

As a nurse were you not taught that if you see these things you report it or you are just as guilty? That was the first thing I learned as a nurse.
