I don't know how Tony got drug in this, read the news and you will see that all the agencies and surrounding depts are cooperating together to shut the meth down.
Mike Hensley has worked drugs since back in the 80's here,he knows what it takes to put a big dent in the problem.
Tony Buchanan as far as I know does a good job,he's quiet and probably does a lot behind the scenes.
To give one man credit for what has taken place would be absurd. But,I will say this, having Mike Hensley and his staff assures of us one thing, the drug dealers will no longer be tipped off when they are about to be busted.
Doesn't anyone wonder how Kent came in to so much money on a sheriff's salary?8681

Then how come tony served a search warrant at my neighbors on massachusetts and found meth. County officiak was sitting on swing. How come dea agent rides with tony? How come tony goes to greeneville federal court all the time? How the us attorneys office knows tony so well? How come the city has all the certified people to dismantle meth labs? No, not one man can do this all by himself but he dam sure initiated it when no one had a clue. Remember the county was still looking for a sheriff during this time. Before anyone applies go ask frank and mike who initiated this investigation. A traveling man wouldnt tell u wrong.
Who? Frank? I was under the impression that Massachusetts Ave. was in the county. Did Tony write the warrants? I remember the article from the JC Press where that Chief Deputy Rogers was the arresting officer. I have also talked with him about the incident at a Unicoi Town BMA meeting and Frank told me that he had written the search warrant. And you are right, a traveling man wouldn't lie to me! Why are you trying to cause division between the two agencies? It won't happen because the Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer in the county, town of Erwin, town of Unicoi, and the metropolitan of Flagpond. Lets don't get distracted about this little misunderstanding of yours, stick to the facts the Shetiffs office is better than ever! The city police is on board with the Sheriffs department, according to Frank they share information Dailey. The City police appreciates being included, this has not been done in years. Kent was a one man show, read the news, all agencies are working together, even other counties. You may need to run this by Tony before you distort the facts, he will tell you right.

Tony was brought up because you were giving all credit to one man in your very first post on this thread. So the truth obviously had to be told. Im sure mike is a good man along with his staff. So whatever you wanted this topic to be for go ahead and begin.

Here is the deal. County jurisdiction, county has to do warrant. However the city police cleaned all meth labs up in the fiscal year of 2012.(Due to them having trained officers). There is no one trying to divide anyone on here because everyone complimented both departments. Actually this is quite childish really. All agencies work well together once they got the info. Everyone is doing a great job. This county is well rounded in law enforcement and its because the men and women that wear the badge.

I can agree that you have made a fair statement here. Well said, you must be an honest and reasonable man after all. I withdraw my first impression of you, we should leave it there

It goes without saying that Mike Hensley has landed in the key position that controls the law enforcement in this county.I credit him for doing his job right and that involves using all available resources which includes cooperating with federal and state agencies, other sheriff's offices in surrounding areas and the other agencies in the county. It wasn't like that before because we had a one man show that hired incompetent people and would not cooperate with any other agencies unless he got top billing.
I'm not saying that Mike has done this all by himself, when you read his press releases,he mentions all involved. But I am saying,it is because of him being the top law enforcer is why it is happening.

Here is my original comment:

I find it funny that for weeks hardly anything was posted on here, just a few comments now and then.
Then, all of the sudden when Randall Killen and Rick Butler were forced to resign,it starts up again with threats of lawsuits and a lot of back and forth namecalling and accusations.
Could it be that with the recent resignations the ex moron and his family have lost their earpiece to what was happening at the Sheriff's office?
They can make fun of Sheriff Hensley and his staff all they want, the things that been taking place since Hensley took over is proof that he is keeping his word and bringing integrity back to the Sheriff's office. You will not find a better administrative staff in all of Tennessee, plus the officers that are left and the new ones are the best. When was the last time you saw our sheriff's dept cooperate with other agencies the way our current administration has?And look at all the big time dealers that have been taken off the street and in federal lockup since Mike became sheriff. It's not the revolving door that was there in the last administration.
The proof is in the pudding !

Now where do you see that I said Mike deserves all the credit?I think my statement reads this is the best administration, that includes the dept leaders.I also made mention that the officers that were left and the new ones were some of the best, also the cooperation with other agencies is saying they have been a part of it too.
By us replacing Kent with Mike, all these busts have come about.Mike is not a showboater,he lets his leaders do their job,his goal is the same as it was when he first hired in back in the 70's,to keep Unicoi county safe and clean from drug dealers and thieves.
The reason you hear his name mentioned a lot,he's the leader.Everything good and bad will fall in his lap.

U may be right. I was going off heresay and maybe it's not all true. I wouldnt expect a federel agent riding with tony anyway. That would be craze. Tony has always ben nice to me and i took the last part of your statment as you were giving credit to all mike. And i'm the one who really made it sound that way. Your right. It was childesh and I apologize for that. I dont dispute the sherifs position because he is the top law inforcer. I guess I just went on the defence side.

Actually the Sheriff is the top "ELECTED" law enforcement officer of a county. That doesn't mean that he has anymore arrest powers than anyother officer. He is however in charge of maintaining the jail, court house security and servring civil process (warrants & civil papers, etc).

Thanks,I've known Tony a long time and he is a good guy, always has been.I like the cooperation we have with not only the city, but the other agencies and depts in this area, more has been accomplished in the past few months than has been the past 5 years.
It's like everything in life,it takes teamwork.
My whole purpose for starting this thread was to shed light on the recent resignations. It seemed like it really angered the ex sheriff's bunch for some reason,I'm thinking maybe someone was keeping Kent informed on what was happening and now they won't have inside info anymore. It's all about propaganda with Kent,he doesn't care one thing about the people living here, all he wants is revenge for the one that sent his little felon friend to prison where he belonged. There's also some other elected officials that are loyal to Kent that are responsible for helping Kent in his vendetta against Mike, our county mayor being one of them.

Me thinks it wise that the county mayor concentrate on ensuring his property taxes are in order. The Greenbelt may end up being his Green Mile!!
