I don't think the interest is genuine. Proven to be just another opportunist looking to protect what has been accumulated with minimum effort & risk.

I love empty threats. Every parent of younger students I know are for this project, see it as a way for Millcreek to move forward with its education (and not stagnate, leading to future problems...ahem, Erie/Harborcreek), and applaud the District's choice to move forward in the face of some opposition. Keep at it, Millcreek! Yes! New McDowell!

We need to focus on trade schools more and colleges less.

Too many of today's kids graduate with liberal arts degrees, 100k in student loan debts, and no job prospects. If these same kids were encouraged to go to trade schools they would be better prepared to join the workforce and contribute to the economy.

Sorry, there's just no need for african basket-weavers anymore.

Hate? Plenty of known haters with signs in their front yard that say "No new Mcdowell". How can that be legal under Millcreek's sign law?

How is that a threat? Don't flatter yourself. Not many even knew who was on the school board until after they learned they wanted to spend 100M on a school that is structurally sound. Thats your interpretation because you obviously are a school board member or a district employee living in fear of your masters on the school board. If I was you I would campaign my ass off for them. They are going to need it after writing up this tab on the people of Millcreek.

The 8 tin pots that pushed for this huge school never even wrote about it in the last issue of Millcreek magazine. Not even a word. And now AFTER the vote that magazine is filled with sugar coated capsules. Why is that?

Millcreek Magazine? I'm sure the story deadline for that rag was before the vote for the new school.

Fact is, this school won't cost the above average tax payer more than $5.00 a month. Might have to skip one of those board meetings because that's about how much gas it probably takes to get there.

Because you're wrong on this issue? It's fun watching you embarrass yourself, even if you don't recognize it.

I think it is actually nice to see citizens stick up for what they feel is wrong! Funny how Gino had no problem stating it was him responding to this stupid stuff but you couldn't say who you are?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not a board member, teacher, school employee, or a union member for that matter. I'm a parent. And, one proud of the decision made by our board. I have been paying attention to this for almost two years because I moved to Millcreek because of the education offered here. And, obviously I disagree with your assessment of the needs for this project, nor do I support the decision made by other area boards to patch and paste and hope got the best down the road.

I AGREE with the direction our board is moving the district. As a taxpayer, I'm saying that. Will taxes go up? Probably, but I'm willing to invest. But, guess what, so will Property values. Why do you think Mr Montagna was pushing so hard for an east side school? Property value and sales (or potentially rental unit usage) will increase where a new school that provides not just the best education but also the best opportunities is built.

Build it, and build it right. What is more disturbing is the fact you said that "not many even knew who was on the school board". You don't know that answer, but I'm sure you know the correct answer to the interior needs of a center of education and how to implement the education offered better than those who have spent the last few YEARS dedicated to determining the best solution. Build the school, build it right, build it now.

Designed by the small-time Millcreek SD architect and will be awarded to the lowest bidder general contractor. That contractor surely wont be cutting corners to turn a profit.

Good luck sucker!

You are either that social media martyr Steward Nash (saw they ripped your facebook page a new one in the newspaper) or some administrator. A parent with an anonymous IP hahahahahahaha..more lies from our overly mighty public servants.

You people never even tried to explain the whole educational philosophy underpinning this bridge to no-where for a school/stadium in as good shape as it is. Better than many Erie schools. You would know about the last few years BECAUSE you are a board member or principal who doesn't have his tenure yet hanging on a political hamstring.

And Gino is 100% right. Good schools do increase land values, but we have that now. You push the pendulum too far however when you over improve. High property taxes lower real estate values overtime. You Board members should have taken Gino more seriously, because now Millcreek would vote for a couple dead dogs running over anyone that voted for the 100M consolidation. I know that backlash has you school directors worried thats why you board members attack Gino so much on here.

Also what about all the other boarderline schools??? This 100M could just be a drop in the hat. Oct. 1st is the deadline and there are what over 100 other districts waiting for thier PLANCON $$$? We need to oust this board with more fiscally conservative people that understand how to plan for the future. 2016, 2018..what about those teacher contracts?? With close to some 160M+ after Mcdowell, debt service payments how can we keep up? Lets pay off the debt and get real. Then we can give people modest raises that taxpayers support with an education they like.

This school was in planning for over 2 years!!!!! Not a word in Millcreek Magazine last issue!!

Assuming $5 a month is on ever $100K thats still plus another $120 for 200K house plus what we already pay close to $2,500 JUST in school tax. I think the voters will agree this school board is taking private property (our money) beyond reason. They didn't even show use how this new school will make the education better. Its the same teachers just teaching in a new room. You can update the building there with smart boards, ipads, cumputers and science labs.
