Gino is a McDowell grad, his kids went to chestnut hill, so he is from and is using the millcreek schools...this is just complete BS. What happened? Did he do a driveway or something for you and it cracked a week later?

I see nothing wrong with someone like Gino stepping up to challenge a gigantic school project when the economy is this slow.

He's right.

We don't need a 10M+ stadium for 5,500 when the most that come to a game is 1,500.

We don't need our own Votech, that will cost us much more in materials, faculty, and facility.

We don't need one BIG ASS school with 2,500 kids under one roof.

We don't need to tear down a solid building made with good old USA Steel and replace it with Made in China Steel. Look at Asbury. That new school is loaded with foam and drywall already had a serious water problem and now has black mold issues. Since 1955 McDowell High (the building to be completely taken down) has never had water issues or mold problems. You just can't build like that anymore. Materials are through the roof in price right now and thats all cheap construction.

He's also being proactive and isn't going to moan and grown when a huge tax bill comes in. Its a fight to keep it down, because its EASY to spend other people's money.

Its obvious educational efficiency and results will be the same, but the bills will be higher. Buildings don't teach, and the ones there are fine, just need some new labs and BOOKS.

Did you know many kids are not allowed to take books home? Can't take a book home due to budget cuts but we can borrow via a bond 100M???

Look at SB member Mary Ray...she is due to leave Millcreek later in 2013 due to relocation/job. Yet she voted for 100M dollar ticket...I know before you fire off about it, its legal sure, but she could have shown some decency and abstained knowing she wasn't going to have any skin in the game.

Sorry folks this looks bad for the taxpayer.

Talking about yourself in the third person again, Gino? You should seek some help with this.

This project has been in the works for years. You and your few dozen goofs are powerless to stop it. Notice how they voted for the project anyway? They know you're a small, vocal minority. You're not the first, and you won't be the last.

Looking forward to seeing you goofs lose more elections. Highly amusing.

Your unions aren't what they used to be are they? This spring in Harrisburg they voted that teachers don't have to join the union...You worried us "goofs" won't pay your bloated salaries anymore?

I'm not a teacher, nor am I in a union. I'm self employed, I don't rely on union thugs to secure my job. I have no problem paying slightly higher taxes on an updated school for our children. Stop being a cheapskate, Gino.

$100 million / 51,487 residents = $1,942/person(not taxpayers)

Well, I'm not a teacher. In fact, I think most teachers are ineffective cowards who couldn't make it in the real world. Unions are what made the USA so uncompetitive and is directly why China is eating our lunch in the manufacturing sector.

So put that in your bong and smoke it.

Over a 15 year period, that comes out to $10 a month...for improved educational facilities for our community! I pay more per month for my newspaper subscription! This is great! Thanks for putting it in perspective!

If you guys think that teachers are overpaid, protected completely by unions, and don't do anything to earn their salaries, why didn't YOU become teachers and live this easy life?. Come on, according to you, the bad ones never get fired, they get way too much money for little or no work. If you can do it better, then step up or shut up.

I'm afraid you are missing my point. I WANT the schools to be updated, not torn down! This School Board has NO concept of priorities or money management skills.

Science curriculum was cut $600,000 under this board.

Kids cannot take home workbooks.

$500,0000 dollars to fix Asbury, a 2 year old school voted to be built by many of the current sitting board members.

Cut ALL High School Drug testing just a week or so ago saving $12,000 from the budget.

If the budget is this tight THERE IS NO REASON to seek a huge $100,000,000+ school just because interest rates are low and a football coach is "Embarrassed" of Millcreeks field and school.
