Yes, she did. It is a perfect example of how little respect people in Millcreek actually hold for the education of our children. Electing Reese, Aliota(maybe), and Kobylka to the school board...three people who have offered NOTHING to improving the quality of education in this district. NOTHING. Like I said before...shame on us got allowing this to happen. What a joke.

If you cared about your kids education you wouldn't send them to public schools. You're only interested in tax payer subsidized day care so you can ignore your kids.

<quoted text>1) Teachers routinely work 50-60 hour weeks, not counting the at-home work grading and working on lesson plans -- not to mention purchasing supplies for students out of their pockets due to budget cuts.

2) A friend of mine is a teacher, and his "huge pension" is about to be slashed by 1/3. The money he's paid in for the last 15 years? Gone.

3) I'd bet $1000 that Steinhagen doesn't even post on Topix, even though you seem to think he posts here 24/7. I think you may have OCD.

4) You are frighteningly ignorant about the lives of teachers.
Wrong on every point.
Pensions can't be cut for current workers, even after the massive 25-50% increase Ridge gave away.

The pensions absolutely can be cut for current workers. Pensions cannot be cut for teachers who have already retired.

Incorrect.
Fact: a friend of mine is a teacher who Tudors a number of parochial school kids who have enrolled at McDowell but have curriculum that was so far behind our "terrible" public school they needed additional services just to catch up. Keep believing the lies you are being told. It's amazing the reality you accept when you refuse to take off your blinders.

A friend of mine says your friend goes down on donkeys.
Every bit of real research proves America's public schools are the worst in the industrialized world, and the most expensive.

Wow, and yet your wonderful parochial education that you do wisely paid for is still inferior to such lousy public education. I'd hate to see where it stacks against the world.

Her election deeply embarrasses me for our community. Anyone who says that their dogs can do a better job than the district's teachers has no business near schools. To all of you whining about teacher salaries, let me remind you that lower pay has shown to lower the educational levels of the professionals and lessen competency. You get what you pay for. So if you just want cheap and substandard education for your kids, ladies and gentlemen, you will get that with a crass back stabbed like Reese.
I am a graduate (1991) and a work product of the lower paid educator's in the Erie Catholic Diocese. So based on this statement, "To all of you whining about teacher salaries, let me remind you that lower pay has shown to lower the educational levels of the professionals and lessen competency." my education was substandard? I guess all of the local doctors and lawyers paying for Perp-Villa and MPS are fools?

Why are we arguing about part time workers who make a killing? Good point teachers don't even work full time!! The last I checked full time is 40+ hours a week year round!

Umm... JRL and Mr. Stein... do not pay a school tax and hence do not have a "dog" in the fight. They do not own real property and really are just shy of being members of the welfare state. Please do not give them more credit than they deserve. They are not on TOPIX.
Ohhh I pay taxes
