Producers of the smash reality hit "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" are commenting that their time in Erie was "the worst of any City the show has visited in its run." Apparently the neighbors did not ingratiate themselves to cast or crew. Constant complaints about damage to lawns, asking for freebies (ie: fix up their homes, etc.) and just plane rudeness. Producers were also shocked at the attituide of neighbors towards the volunteers who lansacaped the whole neighborhood for blocks in each direction. Comments such as "it's about time whitey did something for us" and "mow my lawn, bitch" were not appreciated. Producers, it is said, do not wish "to return to Erie ever again." There was also come consternation that Mike Gallagher of WJET-TV somehow managed to interject himself in the whole process just to make a documentary of the building process. Said one Senior Producer "why the hell is he doing a documentary? That is what the show is all about!" Nice! Stay Classy, Erie!

Maybe someone should have done their research before coming to town. What did they expect? One phone call to anyone in Erie and they would have known that this was a bad idea.

Your surprised? While there *may* be some decent folks who live in that area, for the most part it's a dump... And before all the east side lovers jump on...if that area is so wonderful why is EPD permanetly camped there? Oh, thats right all of the crime that happens..

Wow, makes me proud to read. In Livermore the whole town came out with donations, free mobile barbecue and food for the workers, weldiong work to support various wiehgt baring loads, and fundraiser at the high school when they ran low on funds. That is why I have no problem using the N-word referring to Erie blacks.

The day after Extreme Makeover left JET did a story on how some of the neighbors were unhappy. One neighbor (a distinguished looking African American - yeah, right!) told of how the audience destroyed his lawn. The camera showed his lawn and it was a clump of mud maybe 5 feet by 5 feet. Not really a lawn, but Homey Claus wanted the producers to "fix his lawn." A little research on the City, what type of people live in that neighborhood and the producers wouldn't have come withing 10 miles of that dump of a neighborhood. I also heard that some expensive equipment was lifted? any truth to that? The EPD gonna try and solve that crime? LOL!!!! EPD? Crime Solvers? More like reaction than proaction!

So Erie blacks are N..iggas because of what "allegedly" happened when ExHM came to town? Does Ignorant White Devil Opportunistic H*onkey Crakka Trash apply to Erie whites because of what Mr. Gallagher allegedly did? Where is the proof that all of this went down, other than hearsay and sh.it starting rumors? MBP-CALI wrote: Wow, makes me proud to read. I don't think these are rumors? The crew was talking about how rude the neighbors were the enitre time they were in Erie. TV people are notorious gossips. This isn't the first posting about troubles at the EMHE site.
In a couple weeks either Hollywood Reporter or Variety is going to do a story....watch out

There's nothing good about a lot of Erie's residents. But there's still plenty of Good people in Erie. It doesn't surprise me that EMHE got treated they way they did. But it does disappoint me. But rudeness runs rampant in some parts of Erie. I just had enough of it, left, and came to Columbus. Things are much better here.

I guess the neighborhood kids already broke a 10 foot long section of fence around the back yard. Happened sometime after 11pm last night. Shame those people don't realize the blessing they have been given. Maybe it would be best to just napalm the whole damn neighborhood and start over?
