OK so everyone thinks the GE union is being greedy and the union workers are lazy and that's why GE wants to leave Erie. But the real reason is Greed. I work at Eriez Magnetics and if you want to talk about Greed they are the kings of greed. Here is once a Great Erie company that cared about their workers. When Bob and his wife died they left the company to a snot nosed spoiled kid who gives 2 shits about the workers. With the cost of living going through the roof this company that has been posting record profits for the last 10 years and has given their employees nothing! No cost of living adjustments in the last 5 years. Eriez has been on a pay freeze for the last 2 years so new people can't reach the top of their pay scale. People are promoted on the buddy system regardless of skill or seniority. And if you are a minority you should just be happy they allowed you too step foot in their building. Talk about good old boy mentality. Half the work that was done here in Erie 10 years ago is now done in China and no one is screaming bring those jobs back! Guys at Eriez want a union bad but if you're caught talking about a union Eriez Magnetics will fire you and theres snakes in the grass. Guys at eriez make on the avg, half of what GE workers make and the work they do is seriously dangerous. Its all coming down to corporate greed and these 4-5 fat cats at the top need all the money to insure their Great Great Great Great grandchildren never have to make ends meet while the guys making them that money struggle to make ends meet. Im praying for the guys of GE's union wish we could stand out front with you but being an employee of Eriez Magnetics it would get us fired!

It's sad but seems to be an epidemic in America tommy. You're either dealing with greedy corporations or ignorant people like Enward I am surprised he is intelligent enough to turn on his computer.

Yeah, I know. Some people are smart enough to recognize sarcasm when they read it. Sorry that your IQ didn't quite make it to triple digits.

Tommy must be a misfit,I know several people who work at Eriez ....they all say it is a great place to work & the people are happy. Some people would bitch unless they were hung with a new rope, this must be where Tommie fits in.
I could not find any record of an NLRB election or petition for one at Eriez, I think if a Union wanted to try & organize there , it would be difficult because the majority of workers there by a large margin are not interested. If there was a groundswell of interest in becoming unionized ,it would be relatively easy to secure the signatures needed to force a vote.
If Tommie is not happy,he always has the option to leave & find a job elsewhere.
I c what you did there

here's the thing about unions.....make sure you're hard to replace or dont go bitchin about work rules and pay.

thats where GE's union is gonna fail. You can hire anyone to do the jobs there. Its not like a loco engineer or something where you need years of training and experience covered with government regulation.

GE is fcked cause the workers are easily replaceable. They took advantage by being lazy and the company caught them. When you're unskilled labor, there's always someone in texas willing to do your job cheaper.

Half the shop are suck holes who would sell their souls to keep their jobs? I `ll bet you are real popular with the workers there & I`ll bet these people are all perfectly happy there & don`t want blowholes like you or Tommy screwing up a good thing.
