Has anyone else been contacted by an attorney representing Wells Fargo Bank in an effort to collect on the loan? Just curious to see what kind of progress you've made. Finding it incredibly difficult to work with them. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I too was contacted by attorneys for Wells Fargo last March and now have been served a summons related to the loan.
Any progress, guidance, advice out there?

They will not foreclose. they got 50% from my partner in this "investment" and i have chosen to ignore the summons. They have not come out of state to come after me (so far).

Don ... apologies for the late response. Finally, we are in a place where we can move forward. Here is an update:

1. We have resolved the power company boundary issue and REMC will supply power to the full development.
2. We are in the process of securing budgetary quotes to put power and roads into the property.
3. We are in the process of developing a proposal to put in front of the HOA.
4. We are targeting May to hold a special HOA meeting.

We will be back to you shortly.--Steve

Hi I came across a property for sale within WR and am debating on purchasing it due to the development delays is this advisable to purchase if things still seem shaky or is it officially resolved

I just subdivided my lot into 3 pieces. One for Sopper, one for his mother Gertrude and I will keep the one in the middle to be close to all.

It came with a dues invoice, so hopefulyl this means the development is moving forward!!!! I did try to get on to the association website, but waiting for approval :) If anyone on here runs that site I really am a homeowner, not a robot :) Diane Williams

I am an owner at Wild Ridges. I was recently made aware of the fact that the HOA was active. I believe the current board is acting in the interest of a select few. I would like to know how other owners feel.

To whom it may concern ... You are certainly entitled to your opinion. Just know that we have personally invested many, many hours into this effort without any kind of compensation. If anything, it has been a burden that I would love to hand off to someone else. I didn't ask for this and we are simply trying to realize the vision that we had when we bought our lot. I have no other motive.

We are working for the good of all lot owners. If you have any question about that, I would suggest that we connect so that you have all of the facts. I would also suggest that you jump in and help us get to a solution. That would be the best thing that you can do for yourself and for all property owners. If not, this effort will descend into divisiveness and it will die.

The only way forward is to work together for the good of all owners. Please join us in that effort.--Steve Crowley / Lot 279

Hello...Re Wild Ridges,

I walked away from this miserable real estate investment in 2009, and the whole mess cost me $ 60- 70,000. to pay a settlement with Wells Fargo Bank who inherited my loan from Wachovia. I haven't even thought seriously about dealing with it again, even though I may still own home site # 7. When you realize McDowell County, NC has never filed a lien against your home site even after years of unpaid property taxes, it tells you how bad the deal was. I don't have 20 years to wait for the value to come back, nor really care about dealing with property owners associations, paying dues, etc. I just wrote it off as a bad investment, and can claim $ 3,000. each year off my federal income tax. Best wishes to all who are still involved, but I am one and done with Wild Ridges.

Mike Wilson, Atlanta, GA.
