Hey, Tink, I'm entitled to my opinion, and I will stand up for what I think is right. I am not swayed by the voice of other opinions. Your side has taken up the position of gay marriage instead of the economy or jobs, or Social Security. Now next month when the POTUS decides that we all should have the right to riot in the streets if the grocery store charges too much coffee, you'll jump on that bandwagon also.
Bottom line Tink, if it is morally wrong I will stand for what I think is right. You can state your opinion, but don't tell me what to think.
oh, and Stumpy? HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!:-)

Freed...since you seem to be such a liberal and enlightened thinker...at what point (if there is one) would you object to a group of people acting outside of "normal" society and DEMANDING that the larger group except their practices as acceptable? Is there a point where, even you would say that this group is causing a degradation of the entire group.
To even answer your question I would have to consider homosexuality as degrading our society and I clearly disagree.

It's a free country and you can do or say whatever you like as long as it causes no harm to other people. If you start picking and choosing which groups are "harmful" to society then where do you stop? I find it distasteful that the tea party groups go out and protest against their own government. Do I think that they have a right to do so...absolutely.

You disagree with same sex marriage and that's fine. Just don't expect our government to write discrimination into law because some people object.

The lack of empathy on the right for their fellow Americans never ceases to amaze me. You want to go tell a confused teenager that they are an abomination and don't deserve equal rights. Like it's not difficult enough for LGBT people, let's make sure they know that we don't think of them as people deserving the same protections and civil institutions as the rest of us.

There is a big difference between what a culture will "allow" and what it accepts as "normal" behavior. For some time now, the homosexual lifestyle has been pushed by the "enlightened" of us that it is just a different life style and should be accepted as normal. It is clear to see that they have been very succesful in pushing this idea on the minds of our society.
You can go ahead and think that YOU are "enlightened", but the truth is that you have been bombarded with a message that has "brain washed" you into thinking that abnormal behavior is normal.
OK....but that doesn't change a "marriage" as being between a man and a woman. Call these other arrangements something else and give them the same benefits and restrictions as marriage. WHY NOT...because that does not accomplish the goal.

You can't tell me that the gay people that I know are anything but normal. Maybe I've been brainwashed because I have been fortunate enough to know and care about real gay people, not the homo-boogey men that you are apparently worried about.

It's really irrelevant because this debate is already over. No one under the age of 40 really considers gay people to be a big deal and once all of the older bigots out there are put to pasture it won't even be an issue anymore.

Sorry, but your culture warriors are fighting a losing battle.

Try wrapping your minds around this.

So basically every single one of your assertions about homosexuals is flat out wrong, but I bet you won't care.

Wow...do you even understand the concept of irony?

For example calling someone an intolerant fudgepacker. I think if you are using gay slurs in your response, then your claims of tolerance sound pretty f*cking dumb.
