I know what a joke! No way he could have been on that board and had over 100 million out in PNC bond money if they would have built that school. Serious conflict of interest! Funny how board members have spouses as teachers too. Doesn't Brian Kramer? More opportunity for favoritism and less time spent focused on board duties.
PNC Bank had their man on the school board for the 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2010 bond. It wasn't until 2010 that in the official Bond filing that his name was mentioned as a PNC official and that he would not be voting on the bond. PNC Bank had members of boards, authorities, and elected officials start resigning from those positions in 2011. The PNC Bank Millcreek School Board member was the next to the last to resign. That was after it was understood that PNC was getting the bond for the new school. PNC Bank VP Joe Schember, elected to Erie city council was the last elected PNC official in the state to resign. Much of this started from the financial collapse of 2008 and the scrutiny the banks were under. How was a another District/PNC backed bond allowed in 2012 if the finances were in such bad shape? It's because PNC doesn't care. They know that a few teaching positions can be cut, schools closed or taxes raised and the interest on the bonds will be paid.

No board member whose spouse works for the district (Kramer is the only one) can vote for anything that is a conflict. They simply abstain from the vote. Check the board minutes. Kobylka, Palermo, Wheaton and Conrad's spouses are teachers elsewhere. How about you try reeeeeal hard not to just make things up to complain about.

PSEA for year, decades actually, has encouraged teachers to live outside their working districts, and to run for school board positions, along with spouces. They spend a considerable bit of money each and every year telling those who do get elected, what to push and vote for. And it has nothing to do with taxpayer or student interests.

Who cares what PSEA says. I am a teacher, my spouse is on a school board, and they vote for what they believe is right. PSEA mailings go right in the teas has soon as they arrive.

The candidates running for office in this election ought to be ashamed.

Aliota, Reese and et al do not care about the students or there education. They post their whacky right wing opinions on here or rant in the paper and on TV about their self serving agendas.

Stop the nonsense. Go back to your shitty lives, spouse, boyfriend (or in Reese case girlfriend) and get out of the public eye. It is nut jobs such as Reese and Aliota that prevent other much more qualified candidates from running against them with all their tax payer funded "witch" hunts and personal vendettas.

Let Aliota and Reese compete for airtime against the more intelligent Beeman and Stringirth and stop renting time on here and in your heads.

So much good is going to come out of having the AG investigate nothing on our dime. Let Reese fund the investigation herself with the proceeds from her house caving in a rainstorm not with your dime. Stand up and tell these lunatics we the people are embarrassed by them and want them gone. Let them move on to the 9/11 or JFK conspiracies.

Ask these geniuses where they stand on education. You'll get no response from either of them. They hope this ridiculous investigation will result in something so that when they run again for Millcreek Supervisor in 2 years they can say that they were the reason it happened. Personally I'm hoping Beeman gets out of jail and moves to Millcreek so that I can vote for him over the two of these publicity seekers. He is definitely more intelligent than either of them.

Yes I did say girlfriend as it is quite well known in and around Millcreek that Reese lived with the former female owner of the Marketplace Gazette until a bad break up earlier this year. Their posts on FB about each other and to each other on and before Christmas of 2012 will proof this beyond a reasonable doubt.

This is especially funny because Reese keeps posting disparaging remarks about Wilga's sexuality on this forum while all the while living that lifestyle herself.

Reese's husband divorced her and her a-hole ex "boyfriend" dumped her once they realized she was playing for the "other" team.
She also had a terrible break up with the female owner of the former Scorchers when their relationship went south a few years back. Before that she was in mis-guided relationship with the female owner of HIL that fell out. May I continue? Let me know.
So Donna (judicator or whatever you call yourself) enough about Ron Wilga. OK??????

I can confirm most of this. I dated a guy recently that had lived in her home when all this was going on and he confirmed that Donna is into other women almost as much as she is into herself.

She really attempted to deflect talk about her own skeletons while spreading rumors about elected board members and teachers.

As much as I dislike and have no respect for Donna Reese, her sexuality holds no relevance to me...much like Ron Wilga's. To each their own. I know you were just trying to make a point if her hypocrisy, but I think she has enough challenges ahead of her. We will see just how out if touch she really is when she is expected to put her name on the line and is criticized as harshly as she likes to do to others. As someone else posted here: karma is a bitch.

Self promoting a-s-s, Truth and Cash-

Whoa! Take a chill pill. Did your Jupiter, FL IP get shut down? lol! I'm not Donna. Maybe I should jump on the crazy assumption train and say you are Ron Wilga?

Take a step back and look at yourself. You're lost in hatred.

Donna is 100% assured a seat on the board. Deal with it.

I don't care what Donna's sexuality is or Wilga's for that matter. After all the buzz from employees of his sexual relations with another male employee. The relations he has/had don't matter. It was what he did as a result of the relations. Donna's actions and Wilga's outside of public life are not my responsibility.

My problem with Wilga is the bullying of teachers and principals, cronyism and the attitude he exhibits is horrendous.

All these people you are saying she had "relations" with were\are networking partners in her small business alliance.

You have a gift at story telling.....Or maybe you are a female stocking Donna's FB. Either way those comments are creepy.

I personally think you are just angry that the district is now being audited. If you cared about the district's overall health and the students you should support the audit and investigation. After it is over it will finally put this all behind the community.

Stop the Hate! Looks like the bullies aren't just at Westlake. Ya unfortunately millcreek schools can't stay out of the news cycle. I'm sure you'll find a way to blame Donna, Lou or someone else for that too. Instead of admitting that some things can be done better.

What would the newspaper have to write about if they didn't bash Millcreek all the time? Cuneo and Howard keep beating a dead horse. Why don't they look into Barker's mismanagement any further? Badams laid it out pretty clear.

Who cares? Everyone should. it impacts their taxes, work loads, compensation, cirriculum and every aspect of school district operations. It is the union's method of overcoming the public interest, and due to low information voters, it has been working.

Pennsylvania needs to follow other states leads, and adopt right to work legislation. Now!

How about doing their jobs, and cover and explain these things as they happen, instead of after the fact all the time.

Lets not blame the Times for the Millcreek School board problems. If it was not for the audit we would be in so far in debt and probably in bankruptcy right now. I am not a big fan of the Times either, but their job is to report the news not make it up. I agree they need to do more investigative work and a lot of these old school back room shenanigans would stop.

It doesn't take a lot of investigative work to recognize shenanigans going on right in front of your face. Assuming, of course, your face is even there. The problem with the ETN is that they simply are not there MOST OF THE TIME. Instead, they rely on the weekly board packet information to construct their so called news stories. Even with that process, they should have been able to recognize that information was missing by simply comparing contents to other districts they supposedly cover. So I'm sorry, but I will continue to blame the ETN for not being there, and not doing their jobs. They are a continuing part of the problem.

I'm getting sick and tired of these cranks and their letters to the editor complaining over and over about the stupid audits and treasurer reports. The current annual audit was on the news and even ETN covered how treasurer reports had to wait until it was done. Isn't that what happens every year during audits? This small group of complainers don't do their research yet keep whining, whining, whining. Everybody cares about the finance of the district, friends, but you don't need to make even more of it than the truth supports.

And I get sick and tired of people making excuses for lack of performance. I sat on a school board for years. We were audited every year. And we never missed a treasurer's report due to an audit. An audit is reviewing what already happened, not current happenings. Talk about not doing their research. I get the feeling you know better, but you main objective is to offer excuses for the status quo.

I'm really not. Despite your years on the board, Dick, you know that this audit even tho an annual one is not during typical circumstances. What I'm saying is despite rational explanations by people who seem to be trying to make progress in the right direction a small bunch of people continue to want to fester in their negativity. It won't help them or the district. Like today's letters to editor complaining about proposed consultants. These are the same people who screamed that outside direction should be gotten before anything else is done. So they try to do that and the same doggone people complain even about taking their own suggestions.
