Oh, come on. The public was "kept in the dark"? Baloney. The Otters agreement was voted on at a public meeting every year for about two decades. I knew about it when my kids played. Pat, don't blame anyone but yourself if you didn't bother to pay attention. Those players live with families in the district so they have the right to attend the high school there. I agree the tickets should have been tracked better but "scandal" it is not. The five million dollar transfer was inappropriate but done by someone who obviously got the boot.
No treasurer reports? Yeah, that was poor oversight and Scutella's fault. But I, for one, am pretty sick of blowhards like Cuneo trying to portray complacency as a conspiracy theory. The Millcreek school board needs to clean up their act and it looks like that is happening. Find a new hobby, Pat. Bashing a recovering district is getting old.

With the ETN, hindsight is always 20/20. Had they been DOING THEIR JOB, there would have been public demands for change long before it reached crises point. For example, where was the ETN when a sitting school director was made the district treasurer. They should have pointed that out to the public and questioned the legality of the arrangement, which by the way, they still have not questioned. Since the best form of defense is attack, that is what Pat continues to do, when in reality he should be accepting partial responsibility.

There have been ETN reporters at Erie and Millcreek school board meetings for years. The treasurer, Otters agreements, etcetera were talked about in public without any mention in the paper. Howard and Cuneo didn't say a single word until some politician shows up in town to further his own career. Guys, you were played.

Played? My Aunt Martha. Howard and Cuneo are both huge sports fans, and both were supportive of Millcreek supporting the Otters, when Erie wouldn't or couldn't. Only when it became an issue during an audit did they flip. Integrity is not something the media ever holds themselves accountable to. Ever.

It must be awful to wake up every day ready to bitch about any subject. An old guy like you should be using the rest of his limited time doing something worthwhile. Have some fun ( if you even know how to) and quit thinking you have the answer to everything, because no one does.

ACTUALLY, I wake up just fine every morning. By the way, how are things at the Times?

Public corruption will NOT disappear... Public corruption is not properly reported in a timely manner by the local newspaper and/or the tv news.

All I want to know is what was Golde's motivation for wanting this 100 million dollar project when he knew the funds were not there. There certainly needs to be an investigation to determine this and why were the board members so adamantly following along. Follow the money trail, like who was handling the bond for this project. No financials for 7 months at this critical time leads one to believe someone hiding something and not just Golde. This whole district is a joke. Filled with incompetence and the good ole boy network. Perfect example would be hiring Golde assistant Hall. How did he not know the 5 million taken and about the cover up. Someone should investigate this to see if he was picked to keep the bones buried safely or is he legit?

Talk to anyone who works in that district and they will tell you that Golde ran his own empire and Hall was as much in the dark as the board. All should have known better but they learned the hard way. I think Hall is legit.

ANSWER:
Convert all public sector pensions to 401Ks.
..........
The unfunded total in the stateís pension funds for teachers and state workers is a whopping $47 billion
ó and thatís assuming a 7.5 percent return on investment.
More realistic estimates easily double this already staggering sum.
Who is responsible for running up this tab on the taxpayer dime?
The culprits are the government-sector union bosses who demanded lavish benefits and the elected officials who gave them exactly what they wanted.

Hard to believe the girl who actually made the 5 mill transaction for the district never said a word to anyone. Hall never saw financials? The board just blindly followed Golde? If this is the case thank goodness Golde did not pull a Jonestown on the board!!! Consistently get financials then at the most critical juncture they stop and nobody questions. Where is Palermo, he was arrogant and 100 percent behind the project. When it blows up he is no where to be found and no longer the president. Nobody can be this stupid. Keep the pressure on and someone will crack.

Yes! Keep the heat turned up!
Michael Golde, Ron Wilga, Michael Palermo, Terry Scutella (was it even legal to have a board member as acting treasurer), These are your most corrupt board members. Lincoln, even Hall could face ethical violations! If he didn't know anything under Golde what were we paying him for? No way all these people did not know what was going on!

That 5mil was a symptom of a corrupt administration. Their house of cards was collapsing. This could go across all the administration even to each school principal, Stark, Costello, Boyd, Rankin, Bull, Stoops. They know something too. They should be questioned as well as to what was going on under Golde and even now under Hall.

Oh for the love of mike, "corrupt"?? The five mil transfer happened WITHOUT board approval. Principals have not a thing to do with central office operations, don't they run their own schools? Get over the drama and paranoia. That audit did not say one penny was missing. Diane, really, get a life.

"Corrupt"?? RUSSIA is corrupt. Millcreek let things slip through their fingers they shouldn't have. What drama you have. Seriously, negativity like this devalues every one of our homes. If you don't like the district then move. You can choose to take a lesser amount for your property but I am getting fed up with the crap that big mouths like Reese, Aliota, Montagna and the like keep stirring needlessly up that affects MY property value. Hands off already and get over yourselves. We have gotten over you quite well.

Well, Mr Get a Grip -

Your property values are most affected by the quality of the local schools and by the amount of tax money to get that quality.

The problem is NOT the discussion of the financial troubles and improprieties....

Please change your tag to: "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil"... That should solve everything.

Yes that's right. So all you critics who are writing letters to ETN about how the school district sucks (that would be YOU, Diane) obviously have an effect on the public's perception of the quality of the schools. Donna's rantings on tv can hardly be a positive reflection on anybody. I've had friends as me point blank if everybody in Millcreek "is like those weirdos". I can only say HELL.
NO. And thank God.

OMG...slip through their fingers!!! 100 million should not slip through your fingers, especially when its taxpayers money you were hired to oversee and invest wisely. If this project would have went through imagine the consequences. Either the board members are really stupid and lazy or corrupt, either way please resign and tell the truth.

Why can't people let this go? Golde is GONE!!! The project was scrapped. The money was returned. What good is going to come of doing a taxpayer funded investigation at this point? I say move on. IT'S OVER. Stay out of the news. Enough negativity. How do you think the students feel at this point? I forgot no one cares about them. The Board and the Candidates only care about themselves and I say it's time to get behind the curtains and stay behind the curtains.
