And you don't see a problem with the Big Money Boys,
(Erie Insurance, UPMC, and the rest) each putting 2
Million Dollars + into a Non-Profit and buying up the
downtown..??

It looks like Erie now has "Oligarchs" just like Moscow...

Yes, the Downtown will look nice.(but)
Yes, your housing, food, and entertainment will
all be owned by Billion Dollar Corporations.

The death of Small Business in Downtown Erie?

What needs to happen is the city council and county council need to get their act together and have debates, public forums, and act with the citizens interests and not the corporate citizen's interests. That said, no meaningful debate on public policy will take place between anyone who defends an embezzler, supports tax fraud / evasion, engages in backroom deals, and engages in discrimination of any kind.

Calling for the death of small ideas and old white guys is communist as hell and you'd fit in quite nicely in Erie's government. "Small ideas," is code for "ideas that don't make a few corporations and their bought and well placed board members filthy rich," and "death of old white guys," is simply racism.

Everyone has a right to be heard and civic leaders have a duty to listen. By advocating for the death of old white men - because your professors tell you they're all evil, racist, and you've been brainwashed by the cult of leftist political correctness deeming everything to the right of Stalin - you show your true colors. You advocate the death of those who disagree with you like any true communist would; unfortunately, you, too, will be killed because you disagree with whatever easily manipulated child fresh out of grad school believes that month if you keep that quality of discourse up.

For example, when Melvin Witherspoon requested to the man, who dare voice his outrage with Sonya Arrington's refusal to follow basic financial procedure when handling public money given to her own nonprofit, to step outside so they could presumably "square up," discourse was brought to a halt. That type of mentality leads to no progress, no advancement, and no equality. It was turned into a racial issue - because when you know you cannot win, make it a racial issue and not a question of ethics, civil duty, and moral responsibility.

Sonya, to your political peers, had a "big idea," she is not afraid to sit at the head of council because she knows she is untouchable. She is untouchable because she has committed the same crime those who "think big," commit. They use out of town consultants, arguments from authority, blackmail, and fear to keep the status quo and the money flowing.

Fun fact: the Bayfront and Downtown Erie have seen nearly a billion dollars in public, private, and federal funded or subsidized development. Over half of that amount on land owned by tax-exempt "public" authorities who have no official business in Erie. The other half is from major corporations masquerading as nonprofits who demand the benefits of legitimate nonprofits - and it's still not enough.

Notice the narrative painting. Opposite of spendocrats is dbags.

Clever. The issue isn't a partisan issue, the issue is a deeply entrenched faction that has no allegiance to any ideology except "make ourselves and our backers rich."

Next you'll be telling me that Tom Hagen is the model democrat and Mike Bachelor is the ideal republican. These organizations want what is best for their board, their investors, and their salaries.

His brother Tim is the person who saved the Erie School District. He exposed the waste that Jay Badams was bleeding and actually Tim Wacter was set to be superintendent but he let Polito take it, Wacter is controlling the district from behind the curtain, when he says jump the board member ask how high.
Persinger is going to be the next mayor, he is not going to let anyone step in his way, he is a genius, he is just staying at this as a favor to Erie Insurance. The bigger cities are courting him daily.
Look for Wachter to run for county executive, he has the backing of Senator Laughlin and his machine. These guys have the power and connections and they are going to turn this area around.
