Erie County Executive Mark DiVecchio has agreed to reimburse the county $2,850 to settle an ongoing Pennsylvania Ethics Commission investigation related to county-paid travel by DiVecchio.

The commission, in documents obtained by the Erie Times-News, claims DiVecchio charged personal travel expenses, including hotel stays and airfare, to a county account, and that he later received reimbursement from the county for those expenses.

The state probe was launched after Erie County Controller Sue Weber in early 2008 accused DiVecchio of misusing county resources.

The Harrisburg-based Ethics Commission claims in documents that DiVecchio "used the authority of his public position for the private pecuniary benefit'' by charging the trips to the county.

This is what comes up on your link to the story...hmmmm? Makes you wonder what the real story is and why it was pulled.

My question is why Sue Weber has such a hard-on for Mark Divecchio. Is it a personal vendetta that is one sided or the need to keep her name in the news? Good free pr for her, but instead of coming off as one trying to keep our system in check, she is coming off a little unstable. What is her obsession with him?

Well, you've been answered but I'll add that when DiVecchio was so blatant in his misuse of taxpayer's money it may have seemed like a challenge to the integrity of those who were 'in the know'.

As well, he thought he had cowed her into silence with his campaign amongst his 'good ol' boy' network to smear her personal life. I think she did her duty at some cost to herself that the DiVecchio boys would never willingly suffer.

I swear to God he is the stupidest guy I have ever met. I really do.

Good luck going back to the pepperoni ball and pizza business. No free trips there or county workers to deliver your pies for free or shovel your sidewalk. Or free car.

Maybe Fiore Leone and his cronies will find you a cushy job somewhere. Think they'll remember you or drop you like the liabaility you really are?

And take your wife back to the private business life with you please, let her do your books and pay your taxes. Oh yeah, she probably can't.

You still cannot answer why the story was pulled from GOERIE.COM , yesterday morning. Also, you are not in the County offices everyday and do not know the goings on. The comings and goings of people, like Sue Weber, who makes it a point to go the County Executives' office everyday. She is obsessed with DiVecchio, plain and simple.

The link was down all day Saturday...as for him being a criminal, it comes down to a pissing match. She pulls on the purse strings so tight when it comes to Divecchio, the conferences and such he went to was for the purpose of the county. She waits for him to come in to his office everyday, she is beyond micromanaging. I doubt she will change during the next administration, if she wants the job she should have run for it. Or is this a way to get free publicity so she can run in 4 years?

Democrat State Committee meetings are not 'county business' nor are they 'meetings with the Governor'. The guy is a cheap crook. Three trips to Harrisburg cost $2850? Only if you're charging it to the suckers.

No. But the Ethics Commission does and they're the ones collecting the fine from fatso. Fatso is the one NOT arguing about it. Maybe you should tell him where he was.

Lets see pay $2850 and be done with it or spend $150 per hour to fight it. Well that equals about 19 hours for a lawyer, worth it, NO. Makes sense to settle it. By the way, the Ethics Commission is not levying any charges or fines. I can see your intelligence is showing by the way you call people names. Nice.

Your defense of thievery of public funds explains your politics. How Republican of you.

I am sorry Sue I do not have give my party affiliation up to you. Clearly you only have the facts before you in an article written by ETN, so you definitely have no information. Leave the who, what, when and wheres to the professionals. You are clueless to any real particulars, you just want to be a bully by name calling and showing your intelligent side.

Slurring your words? Cue the 'victory' declaration and pack your bags. You're heading off for another good cry while your pals pretend you've been banned again.
