So you guys remember the power outage last week, well turns out it was on purpose a fiend of mine who works at penelec said they shut down the people who pay lower taxes so they could keep the rich peoples power on while they took 8 hours to fix the so called problem. This is right from a penelec employee I guess corruption can sink its way anywhere,

Th outage was because everyone and their mother turned their AC units on bc it was 95 degrees outside with 99 percet humidity. The load was too great for Penelec's outdated system to handle.

It was not on purpose. Stupid conspiracy theory.

They did shut it off on purpose. They said so on the news. They didn't leave it on for rich people. That part is BS.

Penelec service restored to Erie region

Electric service was restored to all Penelec customers in the Erie region early this morning following an outage that affected up to 32,000 customers on Tuesday.
Everyone was back in service at 12:19 a.m., said Scott Surgeoner, a spokesman for FirstEnergy, the parent company of Penelec.
The outage first hit parts of Erie and surrounding areas at about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Surgeoner blamed the outage on a "high heat and humidity day" which created a huge demand on the transmission system. Some transmission equipment was taken out of service to prevent the equipment from becoming overloaded, he said.
Surgeoner said FirstEnergy believes the electric transmission company took steps Tuesday night to bolster the supply of electricity, especially to northwestern Pennsylvania and parts of Ohio, which should help meet the demand of electric service today, when the high temperature is expected to approach 90 degrees.
It was overuse AND a deliberate shut down which was necessary from the overuse
